Description

I thought the recipes in tech mods were a bit too unrealistic and/or meh. So I made this mod for primarily personal use.

A simple mod that adds a few technology components such as circuit boards and LEDs, 4 tiers of tech kits full of components often needed for machines, and an ore required for the highest tier of tech kit.

THIS MOD IS USELESS ON ITS OWN, IT IS MEANT TO BE USED WITH THE CRAFT TWEAKER MOD TO MAKE NEW CRAFTING RECIPES FOR MACHINES FROM OTHER MODS.

NOTE: some recipes need to be manually added to the game, IIRC it should be limited to just the spool of soldering tin wire and copper wire.

A few recommendations to keep in mind when making recipes that use these components with crafttweaker, these are just recommendations, you can do whatever you see fit with the recipes:

  1. IRL, soldering tin alloy is made from tin and lead, so i suggest making the recipe involve at least a nugget of lead
  2. Read about the tech kits and what they're intended for in the list below, and keep it in mind.
  3. Make wire recipes similar to the existing recipes, in other words: one ingot = 4 spools.
  4. Feel free to modify any of the recipes as you feel fits your modpack, for example, if you believe you have too much copper, you can make the spools cost 3 copper instead of 1, for another example, if there's a currently useless ore in your mod, you can replace hypezite with it. Hypezite can still be made into a glowy block.
  5. If you have mekanism installed, i suggest adding osmium to the recipes of the tech kits, 1 nugget for simple, 3 nuggets for basic, 1 ingot for advanced and 3 ingots for hyper.

Now, here's a list of the things added:

Tools:

  • Soldering iron pellet: a tiny pellet of coal or charcoal made to fit in the coal-powered soldering iron
  • Coal-powered soldering iron: a simple device that heats up using coal pellets and can solder together wiring. Essential for assembling tech. (I suggest putting into any recipe involving tech kits)

Components:

  • Empty spool: a small wooden spool used to neatly hold wiring.
  • Spool of copper wire: often used as power transmission wiring in machines.
  • Spool of soldering tin wire: used in conjunction with the soldering iron to connect wiring.
  • Spool of gold wire: although not often used in machines, it is used in powerful circuit boards.
  • Spool of insulated wire: used as a safer and better alternative to un-insulated copper wiring.
  • Silicon: a semiconductor used in circuit boards.
  • Silicon mix: a mix of sand and coal. Heating causes a chemical reaction to take place, resulting in the silicon in the sand becoming un-oxidized.
  • LEDs: LEDs (short for Light Emitting Diodes) are small components usually used for signal lights, or if in larger numbers, light sources.
  • Colored LEDs: LEDs that have been colored in various colors. Used usually as colored lighting in screens or signal lights.
  • LCDs: short for Liquid Crystal Displays, LCDs are used in modern screens.
  • Basic circuit: some soldered together copper wiring and silicon semi-conductors on a wooden base.
  • Advanced circuit: similar to the basic circuit, but with more components and gold wiring, its computation power is strongly increased.
  • Hypezite: a mysterious glowing gem-like material found deep beneath the surface, used in futuristic technology.
  • Hyper component: a component made using hypezite, using other materials to unlock its capabilities. Used in hyper circuits.
  • Hyper circuit: a hi-tech circuit board capable of not only incredible computations and algorithms but, thanks to hypezite, it can help create tech out of science fiction.

Tech Kits and finalized components:

  • Simple tech kit: a simple tech component kit used in simple handheld tech (such as flashlights) or even some components.
  • Basic tech kit: a slightly more advanced tech kit used primarily in simple machinery.
  • Advanced tech kit: a safer and more capable tech kit used in complicated machinery such as computers.
  • Hyper tech kit: an incredibly powerful tech kit used to aid the creation of sci-fi-like machinery such as warp drives or teleportation portals.
  • LCD screen: LCD screen segments used for the display of anything from computer screens to simple data displays. (The bigger the screen, the more of them are needed).

That's about it, i hope someone will enjoy making their recipes more complex with this.
