Technnare's Simple Spears

This datapack / mod adds a simpler version of spears to the game before their actual release- so if you want faster-attacking, longer-reaching tiered weapons without the OP balancing issues, this should do the trick- especially if you don't want to go through the struggle of updating all your mods to see them in the current version.

This pack adds spears from wood to netherite (excluding copper). The crafting recipes are as seen in Minecraft Live, except the wood spear is just 3 sticks, the stone spear can be crafted with cobblestone, cobbled deepslate, or blackstone, and you can also craft an iron-equivalent bone spear using a bone.

This pack also adds the 'charge' enchantment, which makes you deal more damage based on your velocity, so if you want the spears to have that function, you can do so, but currently this is only obtainable in creative or via commands.

If this pack is popular, I will add the lunge enchantment as well, and make both enchantments available in survival, but I don't plan to release any updates to this pack as of right now.

NOTICE: Whether you're running it as a datapack or fabric mod, you'll also need to put the datapack (DP+RP) folder in your resourcepacks for the spears to look like spears rather than a wooden sword. Sorry to hinder your time, fabric users; the assets don't work properly with fabric for some reason.
