Description

Welcome to the official Telum Solaris mod page!

Telum Solaris is a minecraft 1.21.1 mod aiming to add new weapons, armor and enemies in ways common to MMORPGs.
This is my first ever mod, and I'm likely to continue working on it.
My ultimate goal is to have a huge amount of weapons and enemy mechanics to make the game have a better progression and be more interesting!

DISCLAIMER:

This mod is in it's very early stages of development. Things are subject to change!

Currently, we have:

New weapon types:

This mod adds dagger, longsword/greatsword, halberd, katana and scythe variants to diamond and iron items!

There is also a new tool material:

Steel!

Obtained by smelting iron in a furnace. This item also has the variants mentioned above, alongside a shield and block form.

Gemstone items:

There are currently 6 kinds of gemstones you can find in the world:

Jade

jade_items

Jade is found in jungle biomes at Y -4 to -64.

Onyx

onyx_items

Onyx is found in dark oak forests, also at Y -4 to -64.

Opal

opal_items

Opal is found in deserts below Y -4.

Sapphire

sapphire_items

Found in ocean biomes below Y -4 (again).

Topaz

topaz_items

Topaz is found under mountain biomes, guess at what level? You're right! below Y -4 =D

Ruby

ruby_items

Last but not least: ruby. Found in the nether at Y level 64 to 0!

I got a gemstone chunk, now what?

After getting your first gemstone with a netherite pickaxe, you can smelt it in a blast furnace.
After collecting your refined gemstone, try putting it in a stonecutter.
Here you can make the perfect version - which can be used to craft armor and weapons - and the tokens.
These tokens are the repair material for your new-found tools!

Entities:

Treeling:

The Treeling is a curious little log what can be found in forests!
Just... don't use an axe on him...

Mushling:

The Mushling has 2 variants: a brown and a red variant. These can be found in dark oak forests and normal forests!
Currently, the Mushling doesn't have any purpose. This will change in the future!

Bosses:

Bosses scale with the amount of players attacking!

Monstrositree:

The Monstrositree is the protector of the forest and is not afraid to defend it with all his being.
This is an early game mini boss, so don't expect a massive challenge!

Known issues/shortcomings:

  • At the moment, not all gemstone items have an armor and/or shield variant.
  • Animations could be better.
It's my first time doing animations, so bare with me
  • Blackwind spear doesn't have a recipe
Thought it was a fun item, so I kept it in
  • Dagger item models need a slight retexture.
  • No Netherite/wooden/stone variants of items.
    Would you want wood/stone items?
  • Monstrositree has hella funky animations
    will fix eventually
  • Monstrositree might be unbalanced in multiplayer
Haven't tested this in multiplayer yet.
  • Entity might only render after relog
I'm unsure if this is still an issue, I will look into this.

In the future...

I'm unlikely to update to newer versions, due to most mods, in the genre I'm aiming for, being locked to 1.21.1.
I might in the future make a NeoForge port, but I want to be better at coding before I do that.

I'm also going to pause working on this project for a little due to both life being life and other mod ideas! I will return to this project tho!

This is my first mod, so my coding will be a little lacklustre.
If you have any ideas or coding tips, they would be greatly appreciated, as I would like to keep learning!

I would like to thank everyone who helped me, and thank you for checking out the Telum Solaris Modrinth page!

-Solar
