Description
A complete Overworld terrain overhaul for Minecraft 1.21.1 (NeoForge)
Terrahaul adds a new world type with a much taller world (Y −512 to 2031) and continental-scale terrain: vast plains and valleys, towering mountain ranges, great rivers, waterfalls, volcanoes, coral reefs and ruins, filled with procedural trees and living ambient effects.
🏔️ Mountains that look like real mountains
- Five mountain styles: pointed alpine horns, steep forested ancient ranges, long mountain walls, volcanic cones and gentle meadow highlands.
- Sharp summits and sawtooth ridgelines, flanks cut by deep V-shaped gullies, crags and ledges. The ground goes up, levels out briefly, and goes up again.
- Rare colossal massifs with summits reaching Y 1500–1900.
- Forests climb the slopes: spruce, fir and pine thin out into a ragged tree line, wind-bent krummholz and alpine meadows, with bare rock and snow on the highest peaks.

🌊 Water everywhere
- Great rivers 100–200 blocks wide, winding rivers, streams, fjords and coastlines.
- Lakes with living floors: forest, mountain, glacial, crater, marsh and great lakes.
- Real waterfalls and cascades: tall plunges over cliffs, fans and stepped cascades with pools.
- Deep oceans with trenches, vents and magma.
- Coral reefs laid out like real fringing reefs, kelp forests, seagrass meadows and sea grottos.

🌋 Landscapes and geology
- Plains, plateaus, valleys, hills, windswept uplands and wetlands.
- Canyons with layered rock strata, cliff overhangs, natural arches, hoodoos, spires and sea stacks.
- Volcanoes: rough, lopsided cones with chaotic craters, lava flows, forested flanks and burned zones.
- Geological provinces (granite, andesite, limestone, sedimentary, volcanic) with surface materials that change in natural patches and bands.
- Vanilla biomes, caves and ores still work, placed sensibly on the new terrain.

🌲 Procedural trees
- Every vanilla tree species is replaced by procedurally generated trees, with real roots, varied crowns and giant and ancient specimens.
- Fallen logs, dead trees, and forests with layers and clearings.
- Saplings grow the new trees too.
- Ground detail: pebbles, branches, twigs, pine cones, leaf litter, rocks and boulders.

🏚️ Ruins and trails
- Natural dirt trails wind across the land, with signposts, milestones and stretches of broken path lights.
- Broken houses and other trailside ruins (watchtowers, wells and more) in several variants.
- Sunken ruins on the sea floor: temples, city gates and drowned streets.
- Villages and temples are placed on sensible flat ground, and trial chambers and strongholds stay
buried under the sea floor.
🍃 A living world
- A wind system with gusts and weather.
- Falling leaves, needles and cherry petals, and dust blowing across deserts and badlands.
- Grass, flowers and bushes sway in the wind.
- Waterfall spray, mist and foam, with roaring falls and rushing rapids.
- Higher clouds, so they no longer cut through the hills.

🧭 Finder command
/terrahaul find <landform> locates waterfalls, great rivers, lakes, volcanoes, canyons, peaks, arches, reefs, ruins and much more, and gives you a clickable teleport.
⚙️ Configuration
Almost everything can be adjusted or turned off, also in game via Mods → Terrahaul → Config:
- tree replacement, ground details, trails, vegetation and rock density;
- cloud height and distance fog;
- animations and vegetation sway;
- waterfall effects, and water sound volume and range.
📦 Requirements and installation
- Minecraft 1.21.1 with NeoForge 21.1.x
- Install on both client and server.
- Choose the Terrahaul world type when creating a new world (it is pre-selected by default).
- Dedicated server: set
level-type=terrahaul\:terrahaulinserver.propertiesbefore the world is created. - The new terrain only appears in new worlds. Existing worlds keep their terrain.
🤝 Compatibility
- Sodium (0.8.x and 0.6.x): supported, including tall-world fog and vegetation sway.
- Iris: works with the matching Sodium version (Iris 1.8.12 needs Sodium 0.6.x). Shader packs draw their own sky, fog and clouds; vegetation sway is off while Iris is installed.
- Shine: works alongside it with Sodium.
⚠️ Good to know
- The taller world and detailed terrain make generation heavier than vanilla. A reasonably strong PC is recommended.
/locatefor very distant structures takes longer than in vanilla (about 20 seconds).
