The Amulet

The Amulet:

Before Respawning,

there existed a singular token.

A dark artifact forged from ancient matter.

It belonged to Death itself.

With it, Death Ruled the realms.

It required no blades.

A single movement of the stone would dissolve a mortal's essence, casting their spark into absolute, unending stasis.

Those taken did not respawn.

They vanished from the world, locked in a black void where light and sound were scarce.

The dream wept.

But the dream would not submit.

A hero rose, challenging the entity at the world's spawn rendered useless at the time.

Armed with nothing but focus, they struck.

As the amulet was raised to end them, the hero struck a blow directly down its middle.

The stone split with a crack that shook the dream.

The amulet broke into Two Fragile Shards.

Deprived of its weapon, Death retreated.

The fragments tumbled across the skies, falling to the deep earth.

Lost to time, it is said the shards lie buried where ancient kingdoms collapsed.
