Description
The Collector
A rare and mysterious thief now roams your world.
The Collector is a stealthy Enderman-like entity that hunts for valuables, steals them, and vanishes before you can react.
It can loot dropped items, raid chests, and carry everything back to its hidden realm.
But getting your loot back is no longer simple.
The Collector’s stash is stored in a separate dimension, accessible through unstable Overworld entry points.
To open those gates, you must complete a dangerous ritual using rare relics.
Gameplay Loop
The mod introduces a clear progression:
- The Collector appears in the Overworld (rare spawn)
- It scouts for valuables (ground items + chest loot)
- It steals loot and escapes
- Loot is transferred to the Collector Realm vault
- You locate an entry point in the Overworld
- You gather rare materials and activate the gate ritual
- You enter the realm, find the vault, and reclaim your loot
Features
- Rare mysterious mob: The Collector
- Enderman-style presence (custom texture/model setup)
- Valuable item detection from ground loot
- Chest raiding behavior (including large chest handling)
- Escape behavior when threatened, attacked, or satisfied
- Persistent stash system in a dedicated dimension:
the_collector:collector_realm - 6x6 vault room (V1) where stolen loot accumulates in chests
- Random Overworld entry structures to access the realm
- Ritual-based, dangerous gate activation (not instant free access)
- Tracking tools:
collector_compass- locate/entry commands
Dangerous Access (Quest Gate)
Realm entry is intentionally risky and progression-based:
- Find rare relic fragments (Nether / caves / deep areas)
- Craft the Collector Catalyst
- Build the ritual structure around an entry Lodestone
- Activate it and survive the hostile backlash
No ritual = no access.
Commands
Player commands:
/collector locate/collector locate latest/collector locate nearest/collector locate all/collector entry locate
Admin commands (OP level 2):
/collector entry create/collector spawn_static(debug spawn, fixed, no despawn)
Alias also available: /thecollector ...
Configuration
Main behavior is configurable via:
- spawn chance
- spawn cooldown/frequency
- item detection radius
- chest theft toggle/range
- max stolen stacks
- escape distance
- stash/vault settings
- bonus loot toggle
This keeps the mod tunable for both singleplayer and small servers.
Compatibility
- Minecraft: 1.21.1-1.21.5
- Loader: NeoForge
- JEI (Just Enough Items): Supported starting from mod version 1.2.1
Design Philosophy
The Collector is not just another hostile mob.
It is an opportunistic thief that creates tension, mystery, and recovery-driven exploration.
The goal is to turn theft into a story loop: loss -> investigation -> ritual -> raid -> recovery.
Future Plans
Possible future updates:
- larger realm layout (manor/exterior)
- expanded vault systems
- Collector variants
- traps, decoys, and advanced stash logic
- lore fragments and world storytelling
