Now the development is in alpha... almost everyday I have do anything, new stuff...

The Lord of the Rings Mod is a huge expansion for Minecraft that adds the world of J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle-earth into the game, including content from his legendarium, The Lord of the Rings, and from other related tales such as The Hobbit and The Silmarillion.

This version is a work-in-progress port to 1.21.1 from the 1.16.5 and 1.7.10 of the great modder Mevans (Original owner and creator of the mod), which is one of the most extensive mods ever created, beloved by Tolkien fans and Minecrafters alike. As Tolkiens fans I promise to take this Mod to the new era of Minecraft... in few months we are going to go to the 26.2 and 26.3 versions too.

The main features in the mod so far are:

  • A new Middle-earth dimension
  • Over 100 new biomes, sub-biomes, and biome variants, each with their own unique structures and resources
  • Biomes are generated in accordance with Tolkien's map of Middle-earth
  • The mysterious, unexplored lands of Rhûn and Harad
  • The ancient Pits of Utumno, a terrifying dungeon dimension full of Morgoth's evil creatures
  • People and races from the Lord of the Rings world
  • An alignment system where your actions can improve or harm your reputation with many independent factions
  • New gameplay elements dependent on the player's alignment: unit hiring, and an expanded achievement system
  • over a thousand new blocks and items, including faction block sets
  • many new trees, flowers, and custom-modelled fallen leaves
  • a night skybox, more pleasant rain, and the northern lights of Forodwaith
  • custom crafting and smelting stations
  • vertical slabs, wood slabs/stairs/branches, and multiblock gates
  • an expanded melee combat system, featuring weapon types with different speed and reach
  • a fun drinks-brewing system
  • map waypoints and fast travel
  • Trading reworked
  • Randomly generated Mini-Quests, and the Red Book to record them
  • A system of modifiers for customising and upgrading your weapons, tools, and armour
  • Seamless multiplayer integration in all areas of the mod
