Stalker: He Is Watching

Someone is watching you. At first it's just footsteps behind you. Then a figure stands at the edge of sight. Then someone has been in your house. Then he comes for you.

Or he falls in love. It depends on you.

A horror mod with a director that paces the fear: not too often, never too rare, building up over days. And a heart: what you do changes how he feels about you, from cold curiosity to devotion or fury.

Two ways to play

When you create a world, the first tab has a Stalker: Story / Free play button.

• Story — starts with a prologue: you came to visit a grave at night, in the rain. There is a sword in a chest. You shouldn't touch it. Crypts and chapels with notes about who he was, and a ritual that might send him back.
• Free play — just him. No prologue, he shows up from the first minutes.

What he does

• Sounds: footsteps behind you, whispers, knocking, steps on your roof, scratching at the door at night.
• Appearances: a tall figure far away watching you, a double wearing your skin, someone standing by your bed.
• In your house while you're away: moved furniture, opened chests, a sign with a message, a trap at the door.
• The hunt: he comes with an axe. Run.
• Jumpscares: his face over the whole screen with one of six glitch effects and eight bass-heavy drones.

His heart

Gifts, answers on his signs, a candle in the window at night, holding his gaze, or hitting him, breaking his signs, throwing his gifts away: he notices everything. He has moods (tender, playful, hurt, jealous, furious) and your bond grows over time.

When he's attached to you, he stops hiding and becomes a companion:

• walks with you, waits where you tell him, or guards your house;
• kills monsters that come for you;
• picks flowers and brings them to you;
• builds small things by your house while you watch: a lamp post, a bench, a flower bed, a campfire, candles;
• pat his head: he kneels, bows his head and closes his eyes.

Press G to talk to him (rebindable).

Also

• Diary: a button in your inventory. Your character writes down what happened.
• Advancements for the story and for your relationship with him.
• Multiplayer: each player has their own stalker story. If you spend the night close to someone else, he gets jealous.
• Config: frequency, house events, romance, prologue, volume of scares, screen shake and more. /stalker commands for admins.
