The Unburied — Forest Horror

You can kill its body. You cannot kill the legend.

Long ago, a watchman disappeared into the forest. No grave was marked. No funeral was held. Now, a headless figure in a ruined coat stands between the trees, watching anyone who stays too long.

For three Minecraft days, it watches.

Then the hunt begins.

The Unburied is a forest horror mod built around stalking, escalating encounters, and a curse that always returns.

Features

  • Three hunting stages: each hunting day makes the creature stronger, up to its final stage.
  • An evolving appearance: its coat becomes increasingly torn and bloodstained.
  • Custom horror audio and jumpscares: higher stages bring more disturbing sounds and aggressive camera-space lunges.
  • Death has consequences: dying during the hunting phase advances your personal stage.
  • Temporary victory: defeating your stalker grants 20 minutes of active-world peace, followed by a fresh three-day observation cycle.
  • Unique rewards: defeat the final stage to obtain an Unburied Heart and craft the upgraded Gravebound Charm.
  • Forest-bound encounters: natural appearances and hunts happen at night in supported forests.
  • Optional Biomes O’ Plenty support, a custom spawn egg, and a dedicated creative tab.

Progress is saved individually for each player and survives death, logout, and server restarts.

Requirements: Minecraft 1.21.1, 1.21, 1.20.6, or 1.20.5, Fabric Loader 0.19.2, Java 21, and Fabric API matching your Minecraft version. Download the corresponding mod file.

Natural encounters require Survival or Adventure on a difficulty other than Peaceful.
