👁️ The Watcher (Le Veilleur)

Something is watching you. It is always closer than you think.

The Watcher is a horror mod for survival, solo or with friends. Once summoned, a pale, three-block-tall figure starts haunting players. It acts entirely on its own and chooses its victims and its moments.

At first you only hear it: footsteps behind you, someone knocking on your door, breathing in your ear. Then it starts showing itself in the distance, moving your things, putting out your torches. And one night, it comes for you.

🩸 The Watcher

• Tall, thin, cracked pale skin, arms that hang down to its knees
• White eyes that glow in the dark
• No shadow, no footsteps
• It cannot be killed. Hitting it only makes it angry…
• Stare at it too long and it vanishes in black smoke

🕯️ 35+ events

It starts slowly, then grows bolder over time. At night and underground, it becomes dangerous.

What you hear

• Footsteps creeping up behind you… then nothing
• Someone knocking on your door
• Mining sounds in the rock, very close
• A creeper hissing behind you, but nothing is there
• A chest opening and closing by itself
• Music disc 11 playing somewhere far away
• Breaking glass, a bell, distant screams

What you see

• It stares at you from the edge of the forest
• It follows you and freezes the moment you turn around
• A lightning flash… and in the light, its silhouette
• A sign reading "JE TE VOIS" (I SEE YOU) planted behind you
• A totem with a pumpkin head staring at you
• Your torches going out, one by one
• Your doors opening by themselves

What it does to you

• It rummages through your chests and shuffles their contents
• It steals your torches ("thanks for the light.")
• It swaps the items in your hotbar
• It kills your animals, for no reason
• An invisible hand pushes you, a scratch out of nowhere
• Your camera turns around on its own… and it's right there
• Were you sleeping? It wakes you up. It was standing next to your bed.

What it makes you believe

• Chilling chat messages from an unreadable sender
• A "friend" messages you… but their name isn't quite right
• A fake "Veilleur joined the game" message
• A fake death message for one of your friends
• Full-screen titles: IL EST LÀ (HE IS HERE)

When it attacks

• Jumpscare: its face fills your screen, with a scream
• The Hunt: "COURS." (RUN.) Darkness falls, your heart pounds, and it charges at you
• The Abduction: if it catches you, it takes you away. To a pitch-black cave, hundreds of blocks from home, or sealed inside the rock… and a few seconds later, it's already there, watching you.

⚙️ Commands

(operators only)

Nothing happens until someone summons it. Once awake, it stays awake, even after a server restart.

📦 Installation

• Requires Minecraft 26.2, Fabric Loader and Fabric API
• Install on both the server AND the clients (without the mod on the client, the jumpscare face won't show)
• Players in Creative or Spectator mode are left alone

🌍 Language

In-game texts (messages, signs, titles, command names) are in French, which makes it even more unsettling. 😉

⚠️ Warning

Some of its actions really change your world: torches removed, signs and totems placed, chests shuffled, animals killed, torches stolen from your inventory. This is intended.

Play at night. Alone. Volume up. And whatever you do… don't turn around. 👁️
