Description

Weather that happens somewhere.
V1
The Weather Update is the vanilla weather mod. Same clouds. Same art direction.
One thing changed: weather is now real.
Storms are objects. They have edges.

Vanilla rain is a boolean. It's raining, or it isn't, everywhere, all at once, from the desert to the deep tundra.
Here, every storm is a real thing in the world with a size, a shape, a heading and a lifetime. Rain falls under it and nowhere else. You can walk out of a storm. You can watch one arrive.
And the clouds are drawn from the same simulation as the rain — so that dark mass overhead isn't decoration. That is the storm. Its real, ragged outline. The sky never lies to you.
The first time you see the rain line coming across a field toward you, you'll understand why this mod exists.
Serious but not damaging.
Every storm rolls for supercell potential the moment it's born. Most amount to nothing. A few start to rotate — and rotation is what unlocks everything below it: hook echoes, hail, and the funnel.
Tornadoes are rated EF0 through EF5, at real path widths, with the real-world frequency distribution. So the monsters are genuinely rare.
You hear it first. A tornado is audible long before it can touch you, and that's deliberate: the roar arriving before the funnel is what turns a death into a warning. Then the descent. Then the ground effects ramp in as it comes down. Then it picks you up.
The part that matters:
It will never break your stuff.
The only blocks this mod touches are grass scoured to dirt (it grows back) and broken crops. There is no destruction path.
The full severe-weather roster
| 🌪️ Tornadoes |EF0–EF5 |
| 🌀 Hurricanes |Clear eye, spiral bands |
| 🧊 Hail |Hurts you only. |
| ❄️ Blizzards |Whiteout in the snow biomes |
| 🏜️ Sandstorms |The desert finally gets weather of its own |
Every one of them is biome-gated. The tundra gets snow. The desert gets sand.
Gameplay
Knowing a storm exists is half of it. Knowing where it's going is the other half.
The Almanac Table
A table that turns any map into a live weather radar.
Contoured greyscale terrain underneath. Real weather painted on top. Run it through a cartography table and zoom out until you're watching a whole continent's weather at once.
The Almanac
Right-click the table with a book and quill and get a bound seven-day forecast.
It even outputs to a comparator with a lectern. Connect that to a iron bell for a tornado siren.
Use an Allay to fetch the forecast for you.
Hand the almanac to an Allay and it runs the errand, it flys to your station, collecting the forecast, bringing it back. The book is the link, so the whole arrangement survives the Allay dying, the chunk unloading, and the book changing hands.
Lightning in a Bottle
Put glass bottles in a brewing stand. Put a lightning rod directly on top of it.
