A burnt dimension behind a crack in the sky. Sound wakes what lives there: bells give you away, braziers and rune steles open doors, and three bosses guard eight ruins. Ash, bone and glass, no quest markers.

Description

**The Rift adds one dimension, and it does not want you there.**

Ascalon is a burnt world behind a crack in the sky. Ash instead of grass, bone trees, glass that hums when you stand near it. You get in through a cathedral gate you build yourself, or through one of the eight ruins that still have a door left standing.

The whole place runs on sound. A bell rings when you move too fast, and whatever is listening comes to see. Some doors open while a brazier burns. Others need the rune steles around them to show the same sign, and the mural in the hall is the only thing that tells you which sign that is. Break the wrong block and something answers.

Three bosses, and none of them fight the same way. The Gatekeeper walks a threshold straight at you and seals the room behind it. The Bell Warden cannot put its bell down, so it hits you with it. The Hollow Choir keeps three masks between you and a body that was never there. Each one drops the piece you need before the next layer of gear is worth wearing.

Gear is split across the dimension on purpose. Four armour sets with full-set bonuses, tools that do something on right click, nine codex chapters scattered through the ruins. You cannot build a set from one ore vein; you have to go looking.

Mobs are ash wraiths out in the open and lantern wisps inside the ruins. Neither one is fast. Both are loud, and loud travels here.
