Description

Overview

This mod offers a bunch of miscellaneous features and tweaks to the Thief's Hood from Environmental. It does not include any of the previously-removed features related to renaming hoods and appearing anonymously in chat; rather, it focuses on simpler changes that still serve to enhance the social aspects of the item. All features are configurable.

Config

This config is pretty extensive, so I've split it up into different sections for readability.

Anonymity

These two tweaks are the only ones that are true by default:

  • Killing entities while wearing the hood does not expose the wearer's identity in the victim's death message
  • Dying while wearing the hood does not expose the wearer's identity in their death message

Note: server logs will still receive a message stating the actual identity of the wearer for accountability purposes, regardless of whether they died or killed somebody else.

The tweaks in the following sections are all set to false by default.

Player Kill Hood XP

Note: XP does not refer to experience points used in enchanting/repairing, but rather the actions required to level up the explorer armor item's attribute. (In the hood's case, stealth is upgraded by killing monsters by default.) The tweaks in this section all rely on the following being true.

  • Whether killing players grants XP towards leveling up the hood's stealth (default: false)

Other tweaks in this section:

  • The amount of XP granted per player kill (default: 1)
  • The hood gains XP even after killing the same player twice (default: false)
  • Player kills level up the hood exclusively instead of monster kills (default: false)

Miscellaneous

Note: these all specifically apply to players wearing Thief's Hoods, not in general gameplay.

  • Upon gaining the Invisibility effect, the wearer also gains Regeneration I (default: false)
    • Each level of Stealth adds an extra 0:03 to the duration of Regeneration. The wearer does not gain Regeneration if they use another Invisibility potion while already invisible.
    • Knives deal extra damage (default: false)
      • Each level of Stealth adds an extra 5% damage (starting at 10%). This may also work with kunai from the as-of-yet unreleased mod Caverns and Chasms.
    • Knives with the Backstabbing enchantment from Farmer's Delight deal even more damage to living entities with their backs turned. Requires the Farmer's Delight mod to take effect.
      • Similar 5% bonus per hood level. Having both this and the generic knife bonus enabled makes knives outclass some weapons by quite a bit, so do exercise some restraint if you can.

Explorer's Armor Level Caps

In addition, I've made it such that the level caps for all four explorer's armor items are configurable. Note: the levels are still required, and each successive level cap must increase (no cheesing the system via making all XP values zero for the sake of starting with maxed-out gear). Here is a table of Environmental's default XP values for reference:

Explorer Armor Stat Increment Activity XP Level Caps
Thief's Hood Monsters slain (configurable with this add-on) 10, 50, 100, 500
Healer's Pouch Damage taken by living entities 10, 50, 100, 250
Architect's Belt Blocks Placed 100, 500, 1000, 2500
Wanderer's Boots Blocks Walked 1000, 5000, 10000, 50000

Requires Environmental 3.0.0+ and Blueprint 6.2.0+. Optional dependencies include Farmer's Delight and Caverns and Chasms.

Note: this mod is not officially affiliated with Team Abnormals. Any questions regarding this add-on should be directed to my issue tracker, not theirs. Feel free to direct any suggestions (compat or otherwise) towards the tracker as well. Thank you!
