Description

TickTally

A clean, no-nonsense playtime tracker for Minecraft.

TickTally tracks your actual in-game time across singleplayer and multiplayer, combining everything into one simple total — no guesswork, no menus, no nonsense.

Give your feedback/experience at:

Features

Smart Total Playtime

  • Tracks real time spent playing (not just time the game is open)
  • Combines singleplayer + multiplayer into one total
  • Updates automatically while you play

Singleplayer Bulk Import

  • On first run, TickTally scans all your worlds
  • Imports existing playtime from Minecraft stats
  • Never double-counts worlds
  • Safely ignores deleted worlds (no data loss)

Multiplayer Support

  • Tracks time on servers in real time
  • Works across lobbies, sub-servers, and reconnects
  • Manual adjustment supported (because reality isn’t perfect)

Commands

  • View your total playtime
/ticktally view
  • Manaully add time (multiplayer only)
/ticktally add <minutes>
  • Manually subtract time (multiplayer only)
/ticktally remove <minutes>
  • Help with commands
/ticktally help

UI Integration

  • Shows total playtime on the title screen
  • Displays a subtle message in the multiplayer menu
  • Clean, minimal, and always out of your way

Mod Menu Support

  • Configure settings easily through Mod Menu
  • Toggle UI elements
  • Adjust behavior without touching files

Built to Be Safe

  • JSON storage with automatic recovery
  • Handles corrupted or missing data gracefully
  • Never deletes your tracked time

Philosophy

TickTally is not a parenting tool.

It doesn’t judge, limit, or control how you play.

It simply tells you the truth:

how much time you’ve actually spent in the game.

What you do with that information is entirely up to you.

How It Works

  • Uses Minecraft’s built-in stats for initial world imports
  • Tracks active playtime using client ticks
  • Saves progress periodically to prevent loss
  • Stores everything locally in:
.minecraft/config/ticktally.json
  • Stores corrupted saves in:
.minecraft/config/corrupt_<total_played_milliseconds_at_the_time_of_corruption>_ticktally.json

Installation

  1. Install Fabric Loader
  2. Install Fabric API
  3. Drop the .jar into your mods folder
  4. Launch the game
  5. Also, you are required to have Fabric API, Cloth Config API & Mod Menu installed too.

Done.

Why TickTally?

Minecraft doesn’t tell you how long you’ve actually played.

TickTally fills that gap:

  • No bloated UI
  • No unnecessary features
  • No invasive tracking

Just a single number that quietly grows with your journey

Final Note

This mod was built with a simple goal: make something small, useful, and honest.

If it helps you even a little — it did its job.

And I, the creator of this mod, only make any software when I either want to learn something or felt the need of it and thought that others might need this too, and this project, goes into the second category.
