Tokyo Rise

Live as a ghoul in Tokyo. Tear your kagune out of your back, eat to grow your RC cells, climb from rank C to SSS, and stay out of sight of the CCG investigators who hunt your kind.

A Fabric mod for Minecraft 1.21.1, inspired by Sui Ishida's Tokyo Ghoul.

Six kagune from the story

Each kagune is hand-sculpted and moves like living flesh. It has weight and lags behind on sharp turns, sways while you stand still and leaves a glowing trail behind every strike. It grows longer and thicker through stages I–IV.

Each type fights differently: Rinkaku hits hardest but is fragile, Ukaku is fast but tires out, Koukaku guards best, and Bikaku has no weak spot.

Combat

• LMB combo, RMB heavy strike (a ram while sprinting, a launcher while crouching), LMB + RMB to seize an enemy with your kagune and throw them.
• Hold F to guard. Raise it just before a hit to parry and stun the attacker.
• Dodge, plunging strikes from a jump, backstabs, quick strikes and regeneration.
• Up to 7 techniques per kagune, always ready in the HUD. Among them are Skewer, Kagune Cage, Execution, Lightning Rush, Wing Shield, Hurricane and Viper Rush.
• Enemies read the fight: they circle for your back, dodge, parry, surround you in packs and look where they jump.

Growth: one chain, as in the manga

Eat, gather RC cells and rise through C → B → A → S → SS → SSS. Every rank adds health, armour, speed, leap height and damage, and opens new stages and techniques. Devouring other ghouls hardens your kakuhou until the half-kakuja breaks out of you.

Hunger

Human food makes you sick. Only flesh keeps a ghoul alive, and coffee is the one human thing you can drink. Eat with RMB, cut off a piece to take with you, and wash it down to make the meal last. Starve too long and the hunger takes control.

Tokyo's 20th Ward

• A dense city biome with towers, homes, konbini, ramen shops and sakura. People keep daily routines, ghouls come out at night and the CCG patrols in pairs.
• Anteiku: Yoshimura's two-storey café. Touka and Nishiki work there, greet you and warn you to hide your kagune. You can take a job as a barista.

The CCG

Witnesses call the CCG, and you can stop them before they do. Your face and your mask go on file separately, so wear a mask. The stronger you are, the stronger the squad that comes for you. Investigators fight with quinque and magazine-fed Q-pistols.
