What is this mod? Tough Roleplay is an exclusive addon for the Tough As Nails mod, designed specifically for roleplay, narrative, and exploration modpacks! It transforms the punishing extreme temperature system into an immersive, non-lethal experience. Feel the freezing cold of space or the burning heat of a desert through custom screen overlays and frozen/sweating hearts, without the frustration of dying unfairly to the climate!

Damage Modes You can customize exactly how the weather affects the players. Each mode provides a different level of challenge:

Mode 0 (No Damage) — Pure immersion! You get the frozen/sweating screen effects, but take absolutely zero damage.

Mode 1 (Poison Mode) — Survival tension! You take temperature damage, but it stops exactly at 1 HP (half a heart). You won't die from the weather, but you will be extremely vulnerable to enemies!

Mode 2 (Lethal) — The classic Tough As Nails experience. Extreme temperatures will kill you normally.

Mode 3 (Visual Roleplay) — The perfect visual roleplay effect without the lethal consequences!

Smart Thirst Management

• Automatic Drink Detection: No need to manually configure every beverage! The mod dynamically detects when you consume any modded item with a drinking animation and automatically quenches your Tough As Nails thirst.

• Hunger Bypass: Fixes the vanilla Minecraft limitation where you can't drink modded beverages if your food bar is full. Now you can force-drink to stay hydrated regardless of your hunger!

• Custom Drinks Config: Easily add custom exceptions (like juicy fruits that don't have standard drink animations) or tweak specific hydration values using the customDrinks list in the config file.

How to configure it

• Install the mod alongside Tough As Nails.

• Run your game once to generate the configuration file.

• Open your config folder and edit the toughroleplay-common.toml file.

• Change the damageMode number to your favorite setting and add exceptions to the customDrinks list if needed.

• Enjoy your balanced roleplay adventure!
