Description
Travel Box Shulkers

Need a little more storage before reaching the End? Craft a Travel Box, an early-game shulker box made with leather, string, gold, and a chest.
Travel Boxes work like regular shulker boxes, but carrying 2 or more filled boxes gives you encumbrance, which slows you down. Empty boxes don’t count, and regular shulker boxes remain the better option for long-term storage.
The default encumbrance thresholds are:
| Filled Travel Boxes | Movement speed |
|---|---|
| 0–1 | 100% |
| 2 | 95% |
| 3 | 90% |
| 4 | 85% |
| 5 | 75% |
| 6 | 65% |
| 7 | 55% |
| 8+ | 45% |
Encumbrance is enabled by default. Operators can manage it with
/function travelbox:encumbrance_enable
/function travelbox:encumbrance_disable
Note:_ This datapack is pretty similar in name and function to Early Game Shulker by erynith, and I believe they began making theirs before I ever made mine public. I had been playing with this datapack privately on a realm with my friends for a while, and didn't get any results at the time that I decided I'd post it on Modrinth. I didn't mean to steal an idea or anything. It's just a funny coincidence. I think my slowness mechanic and custom data sets us apart a little, and I believe it's entirely up to preference whether someone would want to use one or the other. Just wanted to clear that up.
