About

Description

This mod adds three stages of treasure maps, obtained from killing undead monsters (only when they drop experience). Also adds a few custom treasures that can be obtained in the Rare chests.

Common (4% chance drop by default, is configurable)

1 Stage, spawns within a radius of 200 blocks (by default, is configurable).

Uncommon (1.5% chance drop by default, is configurable)

3 Stages, spawns within a radius of 400 blocks (by default, is configurable).

Rare (0.5% chance drop by default, is configurable)

5 Stages, spawns within a radius of 500 blocks (by default, is configurable).

In the multi-stage rarities, the loot is in the final chest, with the preceding chests only containing the map to the next stage.

Custom rare treasure items (added to date):

Interdiction Lantern (shown in screenshot)

  • When held, inflicts nearby hostiles with extreme slowness and levitation.

Life Shard

  • Stores 30 hearts of player health.
  • Right-clicking retrieves 1 heart, and sneak right-clicking stores 1 heart.
  • Is fireproof.

Backpack

  • Just a simple backpack with 36 item slots.
  • Is also fireproof.

Sanguine Cleaver

  • Deals 3.5 hearts of damage to mobs.
  • Performs life steal, increasing player health by 1 heart every hit.
  • Only has 100 durability, but repairs fully in the moonlight near midnight, so be careful not to break it.

Vigilant Ender Scroll

  • Teleports the user to entered coordinates at the cost of experience.
  • Experience cost depends on distance, and is configurable.
  • Maximum teleport distance is 2000 blocks.
  • Includes a built-in distance calculation button.

Some other items in this mod include:

Metal Detector

  • Craft yourself a metal detector and start looking around your world! Whenever it goes ding, you are within a block of the target, so just dig around and you'll find it!
  • Craft the components with some black and orange dye, iron bars, copper, iron, some redstone, and a glass pane, and assemble them in the crafting table.

Treasure Map in a Bottle

  • Buy from an Apprentice Fisherman, and you have a chance to get either a common or an uncommon map.

Gold and Silver Rings (Neoforge versions only)

  • Compatible with Curios API
  • Findable via metal detecting
  • Gold rings vaporize arrows near you, and keep piglins neutral
  • Silver rings grant strength and inflict nearby hostiles with glowing and weakness
  • Can be smelted down into nuggets

Gold and Silver Amulets (Neoforge versions only)

  • Compatible with Curios API
  • Findable via metal detecting
  • A gold amulet grants regeneration and resistance when near death
  • A silver amulet grants slow falling and resistance when near death

Holy Revolver (Neoforge versions only)

  • Found in Uncommon chests
  • Deals 9 hearts of damage to monsters
  • Requires silver bullets to function

Silver Nuggets and Ingots (Neoforge versions only)

  • Compatible with Forge ingot and nugget tags for silver
  • Obtained by metal detecting or smelting down silver rings
  • Can be crafted into silver bullets for the Holy Revolver

Planned Features

  • Pending...

This mod was created to inspire and incentivize users to explore their worlds, and is heavily based on the mod Plunder Rummage for MC1.7.10, authored by Guff.

This mod was also created with MCreator because I am unfortunately a noob at coding :/

This mod uses loot tables, which can be edited, so feel free to configure to your hearts content. Some features of this mod are also configurable via the file "treasure_ahoy.toml" in the modpack config directory, thanks to the Configuration Files plugin, created by MCreator user NerdyPuzzle :D

You have my permission to include this mod in any modpacks. Also feel free to leave me suggestions for items, blocks, functionality, etc. to add! This is a hobby of mine, so it may be a while til I can add it but I'll do my best.
