Description
Tree Capitator
An intelligent, modpack-friendly tree-felling enchantment for Minecraft 1.21.1 (NeoForge).
Break one log of a real tree with an axe enchanted with Tree Capitator and the whole tree comes down at once — while your log cabins, towers, walls, storage piles and Create contraptions are left completely untouched. Fully server-authoritative, no client mod required.
✨ Features
- Data-driven enchantment — max level 1, axes only, works with vanilla and modded axes. Rare, like Mending.
- Tag-based tree detection — uses
#minecraft:logs/#minecraft:leavesso vanilla and modded trees (Ecologics, Environmental, BF Biomes, Terralith, and more) just work with no hardcoded species. - Intelligent validation — six checks tell real trees (trunks, branches, multi-trunk, mangrove roots, big canopies) apart from player builds (cubes, walls, platforms, bridges, houses).
- Create-safe — refuses to break any log next to a
create:block, so your machines stay intact (toggleable). - Chunk-safe & lightweight — iterative breadth-first scanner, never loads or scans unloaded chunks, bounded with early exits.
- True vanilla harvesting — uses the game's own drop logic, so Silk Touch, Fortune, durability, statistics and modded/global loot modifiers all apply. No item dupes, ever.
- Leaves Be Gone compatible — only logs are removed; leaves decay naturally.
🪓 How to get it
Enchanting table, enchanted books, master librarian trades, and structure loot — Strongholds, Mineshafts, Ancient Cities, Woodland Mansions and Trial Chambers.
Grab it for testing:
/enchant @p treecapitator:tree_capitator 1
⚙️ Configuration
A documented config is generated at config/treecapitator-common.toml. Tune felling limits, the optional sneak-to-activate requirement, durability cost, villager trade chance, Create protection, per-block blocklists and more.
📦 Modpack & datapack support
Modpack authors can register custom trees and override validation per tree type by dropping JSON files into data/<namespace>/tree_definitions/. Definitions take priority over the automatic detection, so any modded tree can be made felling-ready.
🔧 Compatibility
- Minecraft: 1.21.1
- Loader: NeoForge 21.1.233+
- Designed for: Create, Terralith, Ecologics, Environmental, BF Biomes, Dungeons & Taverns, Naturalist, Farmer's Delight, Better Archeology, Leaves Be Gone.
- Dedicated-server and multiplayer safe — all gameplay logic runs on the server.
