Biome Trial Cathedrals & Legendary Artifacts
Thirteen boss dungeons across the Overworld, the Nether and the End. Each one has its own giant Prototype King, its own battle music and a Legendary Artifact as the reward.
Twelve monumental Trial Cathedrals are hidden around the world, one for each biome. The Celestial Sanctum, home of the strongest boss of all, floats next to the End Cities. Every cathedral starts with a temple at its entrance. From there a long descent takes you through two sealed trial stages down to a vaulted hall, where a Summoning Altar waits.
Every creature in this mod is a brand-new Prototype with its own model, textures, glowing cores, sounds and AI. None of them are reskinned vanilla mobs.
🏛️ The Cathedrals
Overworld
- Floral Dojo in the Cherry Grove. Boss: Ancestral Sakura. Artifact: Blossom Ring.
- Pale Cathedral in the Pale Garden. Boss: Pale Titan. Artifact: Eye of the Penumbra.
- Glacial Fortress in the Ice Spikes. Boss: Frost Giga-Golem. Artifact: Frost Core.
- Swamp Sanctum in the Swamp or Mangrove Swamp. Boss: Swamp Leviathan. Artifact: Vial of Living Venom.
- Storm Sanctuary in the Jagged Peaks or Windswept Hills. Boss: Electrifying Titan. Artifact: Scepter of the Creator Thunder.
- Coral Sanctuary in the Warm Ocean, rising from the sea on a prismarine island. Boss: Coral Siren. Artifact: Siren Pearl.
- Abyssal Sanctum, which appears next to every Ancient City. Boss: Echo Sovereign. Artifact: Echo Amulet.
Nether
- Crimson Altar in the Crimson Forest. Boss: Blood Priest. Artifact: Crimson Heart.
- Heart Palace in the Crimson Forest. Boss: Empress of Love. Artifact: Love Locket.
- Magma Forge in the Basalt Deltas. Boss: Magma Dragon, which flies. Artifact: Dragon Scale.
- Void Citadel in the Warped Forest. Boss: Enderman King. Artifact: Void Crown.
- Soul Mausoleum in the Soul Sand Valley. Boss: Soul Wraith, which floats. Artifact: Spirit Lantern.
The End
- Celestial Sanctum, which appears next to every End City. Boss: Celestial Seraphina, the strongest boss in the mod. Reward: Seraphina's Wings.
🛡️ Sealed until the boss falls
The cathedrals and sanctums are indestructible from the moment they generate. You can't mine them, blow them up, push them with pistons or burn them, so there's no digging your way to the boss and no tunnelling out of a losing fight.
Once the boss is defeated, its structure is liberated for good and behaves like normal blocks again. This is saved in the world. Creative mode can always build and break.
🔒 Trial Stages
On the way down you must clear two trial rooms. In the first room, 2 Trial Spawners guard the stairs; in the second, 3 more do. A Trial Seal blocks the staircase until every spawner in the room has been beaten, and each spawner drops treasure.
🗝️ Keys
Each cathedral's boss hall drops exactly one Cathedral Key (gold) and one Ominous Key (purple). Any extra key turns into treasure. Offer one of them to the altar to awaken the King:
- The Cathedral Key starts a normal fight.
- The Ominous Key starts a harder fight: the boss has +50% health and is enraged from the start.
Keep the other key for another cathedral.
👼 The Celestial Seraphina
You don't find her in a cathedral: you summon her, like the Ender Dragon. A Celestial Sanctum floats next to every End City, with a Celestial Altar and four carved summoning pillars. Collect the four Celestial Fragments and place them on the pillars:
- Echo: dropped by the Echo Sovereign.
- Flame: dropped by the Magma Dragon.
- End: granted by the Ender Dragon when it dies.
- Dawn: kept in the sanctum's own reliquary.
She hurls you away in bursts of sparkles, lifts you with Levitation and rains stars on you. At 50% health she is reborn with full health (once). In her last phase she calls Celestial Guardians and Halo Sentinels to shield her.
Reward: Seraphina's Wings. These elytra never wear out. Press Shift while gliding for a rocket-like boost.
