TurnMobsToEggs

This is a very basic mod that I created that allows you to simply throw an egg at any mob that has a spawn egg and they will disappear and drop their spawn egg!

Purpose for this: I had a plugin way back when that allowed me to do this. It had more features than this mod but I typically just used it for transporting my mobs around or if I didn't need mobs at the time and didn't want to have them taking up performance resources. Eitherway I found it super useful and created a chicken farm to farm eggs to use to capture mobs. It was very fun and useful for me! I was inspired by a Papermc server plugin called 'MobsToEggs' and I thought I would make a mod that is similar or equivalent in function. My mod does lack a lot of that plugins features but it does have the core mechanics of simply throwing an egg at any mob to make them disappear and drop their spawn egg, essentially "capturing" them. This mod does not retain the mobs color or other features like names in the spawn eggs dropped, so keep that in mind when using it that it will remove those attributes.

Here is an example of it being used back to back on two pandas! Also the surprise baby chicken!!

This is another example of the the chance to accidentally hatch a baby chicken when turning a mob to an egg. Very fun!
