Description

Tycoon Collectibles

Every piece has a story.

Tycoon Collectibles brings memorabilia to Minecraft: game-used bats and balls, game-worn jerseys, tickets from historic games, sealed vintage tech and graded games - each one a single piece with a history - the event it comes from, what it is made of, who owned it, whether it is genuine, and what it is worth today. A piece does not just have a price. It has a past, and its value follows that past through the years of your world.

Pieces with a past

  • 272 pieces from 1920 to 2025: bats, baseballs, basketballs, jerseys and tickets from baseball, basketball, soccer, American football, ice hockey, boxing, golf and tennis - opening days, record games, milestone hits, finals, title-clinching games, farewells.
  • Beyond sports: sealed original technology (first-generation phones, home computers and consoles still in their cartons) and sealed games in graded acrylic slabs, with the collector boom of 2020 and 2021 and the cooling after.
  • Every piece is one of a kind: event and date, material and measurements, an inscription, the full story and a chain of owners with years. Names and places are invented, the facts - dates, numbers, prices - follow real history.
  • Authenticity: documented without gaps, authenticated, attributed. A gap in the chain of ownership counts against the piece.
  • A piece is unique in your world: once a player has it, it cannot turn up again. A copy with the same serial number becomes a replica - marked as such, worthless at auction and in stores.

Value that follows the calendar

Each piece has a value curve over the years, tied to Tycoon Calendar: a piece does not exist before its event, and its value rises and falls with the date in your world - including the crashes and booms of the collectors' market. Points backed by a documented sale are shown as such; every other value is marked estimate.

  • The tooltip shows event, measurements, authenticity and value today. Hold Shift for the inscription, the story and the chain of owners.
  • Right-click a piece to open its dossier: the full story over six to ten paragraphs, the chain of ownership, the value history with the highest value so far and the record hammer price.

Real size, real shape

Bats are turned bodies in true size - length, handle, barrel and knob follow the measurements of the piece, down to the wood and the wear. Baseballs are real spheres with their stitching, stamp and signature (7.4 cm, in true proportions), basketballs have their panels, seams and leather. Many pieces share a look in the base mod, but every piece keeps its own plaque.

The tablet: a marketplace in your pocket

Craft the Tablet and right-click it to open an online marketplace - collect as a private person without running a shop.

  • Buy: every calendar day it offers a limited selection that is the same for everyone in the world, at the market price of the day, paid from your Money account. A bought piece is gone for the day.
  • Filter and sort like on a real auction site: by sport or set, trait, price band, price, name or newest first. Watchlist, purchase history and account page included.
  • Sell your own pieces: list a genuine piece at your own asking price (up to three listings). The closer to market value, the better the chance it sells each day; the app shows the chance. A sale pays the price minus a 10 percent fee. The server holds listed pieces safely - nothing can be lost or duplicated.
  • Light and dark design, readable at every GUI scale.

Display and storage

  • Bat Wall Rack and Triple Bat Wall Rack: right-click with a bat to hang it up, with an empty hand to take it down. The bat stays visible, its name shows under the crosshair.
  • Bat Tube Rack: storage with 36 tubes, one bat per tube, hoppers and comparators work.
  • Game Ball in its acrylic case: a ball comes in a case. Sneak + right-click in the air takes it out or puts it back (out of its case it is worth 5 percent less). Right-click a block to set it down in a Ball Cube, up to four per block.
  • Ball Cube Box: storage for 27 cased balls.
  • Basketball Display Case: a plinth with a plaque and an acrylic cover. Basketball Crate: storage for 27 basketballs.
  • Whoever places a rack, cube, case or box owns it: only the owner and operators open it, hang things in or take them out, and break it. Hoppers and pipes are not blocked.

Where pieces come from

All pieces are in the creative tab Tycoon Collectibles. In survival you buy them on the tablet, and with TCG Packs they turn up in its auction house, and sellers who visit your store bring a piece. You can also sell pieces in a TCG Packs or Tycoon Retail store: a bat on the wall rack or a ball in its cube is for sale right where it stands. A sold piece goes with the customer and can turn up at auction again later.

For servers and pack makers

  • Config (tycooncollectibles-common.toml): auction.weight sets the share of auction lots that are collectibles (default 1, 0 = none); phone.* switches the tablet on or off and sets offers per day, the price factor, listing slots, the selling fee and the selling chances.
  • Tablet API: other mods can list their own goods on the tablet (PhoneAPI, a small separate API jar is built alongside).
  • Resource packs can replace every name, inscription and story and give each piece its own textures.
  • No commands.

Requirements

  • Minecraft 1.21.1, NeoForge
  • Money (required) - payments and prices
  • Tycoon Calendar (required) - the date the values follow
  • TCG Packs (optional) - auction house, store sellers and store sales
  • Tycoon Retail (optional) - sell pieces in its stores

Works in singleplayer and multiplayer: ownership of pieces is kept on the server.

A note on how this was made

This mod was built with substantial help from AI. The design decisions, the playtesting and the direction are mine; a large share of the code, the textures and this text was written with an AI assistant. I would rather say that plainly than have you wonder.
