Unique Wardens
No reviews yet
This mod aims to make the Warden more rewarding to fight by limiting Ancient cities to one Warden and making its defeat permanent. To fight it again, it can be summoned.
Includes a large focus on traversing worlds with enhanced world generation, structures, dungeons, and more for players to find unique loot.

Description
Unique Wardens
I made this mod for myself to use in singleplayer because I felt like fighting the Warden should be a viable and challenging way of looting Ancient cities.
Thus, the purpose of this mod is to make the Warden feel more unique and make fighting it more rewarding.
Each Ancient city can only have one Warden. Multiple Wardens will not spawn in the same Ancient city simultaneously, and if the Warden of an Ancient city gets killed, the Ancient city dies and goes quiet forever — unless you respawn its Warden back with a ritual. This was added so you can fight the Warden as many times as you want without searching for a new Ancient city each time.
Features
- One Warden per Ancient city – shriekers in an Ancient city won't summon a new Warden while one is already alive there.
- Better loot – the Warden now drops much better loot including Enchanted golden apples and Bottles o' Enchanting.
- Permanent slaying – defeat the Warden and that Ancient city is cleared. Its shriekers won't shriek anymore.
- A ritual to undo it – to fight the Warden again without searching for a new Ancient city you can summon it back with a ritual.
- Consequences either way – kill the ritual's Warden and the city is cleared again. Let it wander off instead, and the city wakes back up.
How to re-summon the Warden
Note: Only works inside an Ancient city whose warden has already been killed. If the Warden is still alive, or hasn't spawned yet, you have to deal with it normally first.
If you wish to fight the Warden of an Ancient city again after defeating it once, you have to spawn it using a simple altar similar to the Wither or the Ender Dragon.
If the Warden spawns using this ritual, the city it spawns in is brought back to life, meaning shriekers shriek again — and if the Warden buries itself instead of being killed, it stays active and can be summoned normally afterward.

How to spawn the Warden:
- Inside an Ancient city, place a Redstone block, then surround it with Soul sand on all four sides, making a small cross.
- Place a candle on top of each Soul sand block.
- Light all four candles with flint and steel.
- If you have successfully initiated the spawn, once the last candle is lit, the candles will turn to soul fire. Wait about 10 seconds for the Warden to emerge.
Breaking/modifying any part of the structure before the spawn finishes will cancel the ritual.
