Description

Inspired by Minecraft's April Fools updates.
Useless but Cool Additions is a mod inspired by Minecraft's official April Fools updates. Its goal is to add a variety of new content that may be useful, questionable, or completely unnecessary.
Most additions are designed to be discovered naturally during gameplay. Because of that, this page only showcases a few examples of what you might encounter.
Highlights
Wooden Bat
An early-game item capable of applying a ridiculously excessive amount of knockback to any creature without dealing damage.
Features:
- Deals no damage.
- Launches mobs far away.
- Produces a satisfying "bonk!" sound.
Legendary Artifact
A mysterious artifact that can be obtained in several ways:
- Through trades with a Wandering Trader.
- Magically obtained after taming a wolf.
But one question remains:
What happens if you give the artifact to a tamed wolf?
Inspired by Undertale.
Music Discs
The mod adds a large collection of music discs, including:
- Magnetic Circuit, a track created by Notch that was accidentally included in Minecraft Java Edition Alpha v1.1.1.
- Various tracks from Minecraft's official albums composed by C418.
Random Additions
Some additions exist simply because they can.
- Tilling dirt may drop seeds.
- Using a shovel on grass may drop flowers.
- Zombies can spawn holding Wooden Bats.
- Zombies can spawn riding wolves.
- And many other random mechanics scattered throughout the game.
Development
Useless but Cool Additions is not a finished project.
The mod will continue to receive new ideas, content, and experiments over time. Whenever something funny, interesting, or unnecessary enough comes to mind, there's a good chance it will end up being added.
Notes
Not every feature will be documented here.
Part of the fun is discovering them on your own.
