Description

Vanilla Mob Minibosses is a datapack-created mod that introduces special miniboss variants of vanilla mobs

Mobs:

Mobs will use their special attacks in the order it is shown here. This makes them more predictable when fighting them.

As of now all 3 have craftable spawn eggs but this will likely change in the future.

Illagers Wear Armor is recommended to see the custom illager's armors.

See the Images tab to see how they look and how to craft them (wip)

for creative mode/mob battles: use /function piglincultist:give_all to give yourself items from the mod, including spawn eggs, or /function piglincultist:give_<mob> to only get a specific mob's spawn egg

Natureologer

An early game boss that is very agile shoots poison arrows and drops leaves on your head. Leather Armor & Wooden Weapons are recommended to defeat him. 42 HP

Spawning:

Craftable Spawn Egg, and a 10% chance to replace normal pillagers in raids. Natureologers that join raids won't target other illagers with their attacks.

Basic Attack:

Shoots poison arrows from his crossbow.

Special Attacks:

Leaf Drop: Drops a leaf on 3 random nearby mobs. He will use this twice. Falling leaves deal 6 damage on impact.

Leaf Storm: Drops 4 leaves in the cardinal directions and shoots 4 poison arrows in the diagonal directions.

Other Abilities:

In between attacks he will occasionally sidestep to the left or right.

When hit he will dodge the next incoming attack for 1.5 seconds, indicated by smoke particles.

Strategy:

Avoid being too aggressive and trying to combo him, he will dodge your attacks.

Instead take it slow and attack him when he does not have the smoke particles.

Drops:

25% chance to drop a poison arrow, and drops his mask (see natureologer mask)

Knightlander (texture still wip)

Another early game boss that is much bulkier and deadlier than the natureologer, but less agile. 42 HP

The Knightlander deals 0 damage with his normal attacks.

If Pehkui is installed he will be 2.5 blocks tall.

Spawning:

Craftable Spawn Egg, Raids (Same odds as Natureologer), and are attracted to players that hoard too much loot

Special Attacks:

Lunge: Charge forward dealing 2x his weapon damage. He will use this twice

Snipe: Switches to his bow which deals 12 damage. This is indicated by a red laser beam before firing.

Other Abilities:

Knightlander becomes faster and only uses Snipe when there are no mobs within 12 blocks of him.

Strategy:

Attack Knightlander while he is charging up his attacks or after he finishes an attack. Later on a bow and arrow can be used to easily defeat him.

After a lunge attack he tends to turn his back around for a brief second, take advantage of this with modded items that can backstab

Drops:

Normal Vindicator Drops + a chance to drop his amethyst sword, The Knightlander, or his armor

Withered Cultist (survival balancing wip)

The main mob of the mod, this devastating brute was once a normal piglin captured by the wither skeletons to be corrupted into a unholy being. Luckily he was saved by his fellow piglins before the transformation was complete, giving him wither powers!

333 HP

Spawning:

Craftable Spawn Egg

Basic Attack:

Strikes enemies with his golden hoe

Special Attacks:

Air Strike: jump backwards then fire 25 wither skulls before hitting the ground.

Clone: Summon a haunted clone for 6 seconds that rapidly strikes the enemy dealing 1% current hp damage and withering enemies, damage doubled against wither immune enemies.

Storm Clone: Only used when Withered Cultist is Enraged. Strikes lightning on enemies if the Withered Cultist is not nearby, otherwise gives the cultist an extra dodge

Wither Cloud: Summon a withering aura that slowly increases in size, weakening and withering enemies who stand in it

Raging Tempest: Become Furious for 8 seconds gaining increased speed, dealing double damage and withering enemies.

Market Barterer: TNT Launch into the air before whacking the enemy with a golden shovel! Deals 32 damage +12% current hp damage
TNT does not grief blocks or hurt mobs

Netherite Drill: Summons a drill from the nether's ancient times that rapidly drains the max hp of those standing in front of it. Drains up to 60% max hp unlike Wither Corruption, but excess drained hp regenerates faster. Enemies with Absorption are immune to max hp drain.

Other Abilities:

-Wither Heal: Gain regeneration if a nearby mob is suffering the wither effect.

-Wither Corruption: Mobs taking damage from wither near the Cultist slowly lose max health, up to -40% hp. This slowly recovers if they are not withered. Enemies with Absorption are immune to max hp drain.

-Dodge: When hit, leap forward, then lose the ability to dodge. Regain this ability over time and from Storm Clone. First hit while under dodge is reduced through armor toughness.

-Furious: When on fire, gain +4 damage

-Shielded: Start with a shield which blocks 66 damage. It regenerates after using Market Barterer based on his lost hp.

-Has a rare chance to spawn with a wooden head, this is a joke on this mob's abbreviation.

-Hp based damage does not affect players.

-Enraged: When below 50% health his special abilities become enhanced

Strategy:

While he is using the berserker move, block him with a shield to briefly weaken him and instantly break his shield.

Drops:

nothing as of now.

Knight of Nature (Creative Only)

Creative Exclusive mob with 999 Absorption but only 1 Health

He has the Abilities of both Natureologer & Knightlander

Spawning:

Only accessable with /function piglincultist:give_all

Strategy:

Use similar tactics to fighting Natureologer & Knightlander; all his attacks are still dodgeable, but you will have to fight him for much longer due to the 999 absorption

Drops:

Same as Knightlander

Items:

Natureologer's Mask

Grants +2 Hp and Armor. Covers your view like a carved pumpkin, but good stats for early game! Dropped by the Natureologer

The Knightlander (Sword)

A longsword that makes counterattacking after blocking stronger

7 damage, 1.6 attack speed

Repairable with Amethyst Shards.

Has built in compat with Project: War Dance & Better Combat

Note: The Knightlander found in the creative menu and JEI does not have the custom attributes below. To get them you have to defeat the Knightlander illager.
Reduces Max HP by 15%. When blocking with a shield, gain a temporary 35% damage & movement speed for 1 second or until you switch to a different item.

Knightlander Armor Set

A bulky armor set that makes you really tough but slower and inhibits your magic capabilities.

Increases your gravity by 4%.

Cultist's Shield

An unbreakable shield that can launch wither skulls at enemies

When blocking any attack: gain absorption for 5 seconds

When blocking a projectile: fire a wither skull where you are looking

Cultist Armor Set

An agile armor set that enhances your magical capabilities and allows you to phase through walls

Helmet: 2 Armor

Chestplate: 5 Armor

Leggings: 4 Armor

Boots: 2 Armor

Grants +4 Armor Toughness, +8% Movement Speed & -25% Name Tag Distance

Phase Shift (Full Set): Sneak while in the air to briefly phase through blocks and avoid attacks! 2 Second Cooldown.

When Dungeons Gear installed: +12.5% Soul Gathering & +25 Max Souls

Guardian's Grace

The Trident Bow turns your arrows into tridents! Only normal and spectral arrows get converted.

These tridents can be enhanced by bow enchantments, including built in compatibility with some dungeons gear enchantments like poison cloud

They work underwater and can only be picked up by the player who shot them

Fully Charged Shots gain Impaling I
Tridents deal 8 damage, up to 11 with Power V.
