Description
VanillaItemPatches is a lightweight client-side mod for Forge that fixes bugs present in vanilla Minecraft that Mojang has not addressed.
Current fixes (1.20.1):
- Mending break reset (MC-176559): When mining a block with a Mending-enchanted tool and an experience orb is collected, the mining progress no longer resets. This affected all tools with Mending, including modded ones.
- Patterned banner stacking (MC-251509): Patterned banners that have been placed and then broken now stack correctly with identical banners.
- Jukebox/Allay duplication: After a world reload, a Jukebox with a music disc would stop playing music but still allow Allays to duplicate. This fix prevents the duplication exploit.
- Multishot crossbow (MC-215542): A charged Multishot crossbow will no longer shoot three arrows if the Multishot enchantment is removed. It now correctly shoots only one arrow.
- Item use on death screen (MC-133218): With
keepInventoryenabled, using an item at the moment of death no longer consumes the item or applies its effect. The item is preserved. - Bookshelf placement (MC-263637): Blocks can now be placed on the open side of chiseled bookshelves without sneaking.
- Soul Speed particles (MC-263549): Soul Speed particles no longer spawn infinitely when sneaking on a block corner while holding a movement key.
Configuration:
The mod includes a config file (vanillaitempatches.toml) that allows you to toggle each fix individually. You can also access the config directly from the Mods menu via the Config button.
More fixes may be added in future versions.
Client side: Required
Server side: Optional (the mod does not need to be installed on the server)
