Description

Veilings is a mod that adds Veilings, small spirit companions that you raise, command in combat, and require care - else they turn Wicked.
Command your troupe using specialized tools, personalize and upgrade particular Veilings with outfits and treats, have a dance party, and try not to feel bad if you neglect them tantrum and turn evil.
Content
Obtaining
This item is an unborn Veiling, and must be tossed into Water (or Rain) in order to hatch into your first Veiling! This fresh Veiling will imprint upon the nearest Player, automatically making them their owner. They also are randomized, with a random type, unique eye color, a favorite food, a unique sit animation, and even a unique dance animation.
To obtain new Veilings, you can simply get them wet to get them to Multiply! Multiplied Veilings are randomized and imprint the same as freshly born ones, but always inherit the type from their parent.
Veilings

Veilings are little undead imp spirits, who love sweets and mischief! They are companions who will aid in battle, and have plenty of personality.
They come in three types, being:
- Custodians – Bulky and stoic, they give Resistance to nearby Veilings and can heal fellow injured Veilings.
- Defts – Small and nimble, they can be equipped with Swords or Axes.
- Dramatists – Tall and lanky, they summon Spirit Daggers to pierce their foes at a distance. Daggers move through walls, but vanish after a second.
Veiling Essence

Every time a Veiling multiplies, they will drop 1 Veiling Essence, a valuable crafting item for many purposes. Essence is used for obtaining many items, including new False Fetuses.
- Veiling Masks – Masks matching each Veiling Type, transforming a Veiling upon use without erasing their unique traits or upgrades.
- Command Sceptre – Commands all of your Veilings to move to a selected spot or attack a selected mob. Shift-Use to limit commands to a chosen Veiling Type.
- Calling Bell – Changes the mode of all Veilings near a selected spot (Follow, Wander, or Wait). Shift-Use to change the bell's mode.
- Veiling Weave – Used to craft Veiling Outfits. These give 4 Armor, come in many styles, and can be dyed any color (including combinations).
- Veiling Tiramisu – Permanently increases a Veiling’s Max Health by 2 (up to 30). Can also be eaten for 30 seconds of Absorption.
- Spirit Dagger – Functions as those thrown by Dramatists. Moves through walls and hits the first valid entity.
- False Fetus – Identical to those found in Nether Fortresses.
Mood

Vital to Veilings is their mood, an internal metric of how happy they are. Particles and sounds reflect changes in mood, and Veilings become quieter when unhappy.
Many interactions increase their mood:
- Eating treats* (extra boost for their favorite).
- Playing with items*.
- Participating in activities (Dancing, Snowball Fights).
- Being named for the first time (renaming gives a random positive or negative amount).
*Play items include all throwables (Snowballs, Eggs, Ender Pearls, Potions) and Slimeballs.
Things that lower their mood:
- Multiplying (affects both parent and child).
- Direct sunlight.
- Seeing mobs they fear (Zombies, Wicked Veilings).
- Being hurt by their owner.
- Death of fellow Veilings owned by the same player.
- Nearby Veilings throwing a Tantrum.
If a Veiling's mood drops too low, they will Tantrum — crying loudly, dragging down the mood of others, and eventually transforming into a Wicked Veiling.
Wicked Veilings

Veilings pushed into deep unhappiness become Wicked. These twisted spirits attack Players, harass normal Veilings, and steal treats or toys off the ground. Currently, there is no way to cure a Wicked Veiling.
