# Enchanted Book Trader
Ever found an enchanted book you didn't need, with no good way to use it? This mod turns that book into currency — and turns your local librarian into an actual book dealer.
## How it works
**Teach a trade:** Right-click a librarian villager while holding an enchanted book. The villager consumes the book and adds a real trade to its offer list — you (or anyone) can buy that exact book back from it later for emeralds.
**Reroll for a better price:** Got a duplicate of an enchantment type the villager already knows? Hand it over, and instead of teaching a new trade, it *rerolls* the existing one — new random price, the offered book updates to match the level you just gave it, and its stock fully restocks. It's a gamble each time.
**Only librarians deal in books.** Other professions (and unemployed villagers) will ignore the book entirely — it stays safely in your hand.
## Details
- A single villager can learn up to **5 different enchantment types**, each as its own trade slot
- Books with multiple enchantments (e.g. from custom NBT) aren't accepted, to keep pricing predictable
- Fully server-side gameplay logic — no client-only rendering, works in singleplayer or on a dedicated server
## Requirements
- Minecraft 26.2
- [Fabric Loader](https://fabricmc.net/use/installer/) 0.19.3+
- [Fabric API](https://modrinth.com/mod/fabric-api) 0.155.0+26.2 or newer
## Compatibility
Doesn't touch vanilla villager profession trades — every trade this mod creates is internally tagged so it only ever modifies its own entries, even on a librarian that already offers books natively.
