In the distant old capital, a catastrophe known as the Ether Cataclysm tore apart the boundaries of the world. Supernatural energy — Ether — surged forth from the rifts, corroding space and life alike, and gave rise to the alien dimensions known as Hollows. Upon the ruins, humanity erected its last bastion: New Eridu. And those who dared to step into the Hollows, opposing the Ether's corrosion with flesh and blood, were granted the city's highest honor — the title of Void Hunter.
