About
Description
Voidbound
Voidbound turns the Overworld into an endless void. There are no mountains, forests, oceans, or caves to explore — only structures somewhere in the emptiness.
You start on a small island with limited resources. From there, you'll have to bridge to villages, ruined portals, shipwrecks, outposts, temples, and whatever else you can find. Structures that are usually optional become the main way to survive and progress.
The goal is still Minecraft: reach the Nether, make it to the End, and defeat the Ender Dragon. Getting there is the hard part.
What does Voidbound change?
The terrain itself is removed, but biomes still exist. This allows structures to generate in the biomes where they normally would, just without the terrain surrounding them.
Each new Voidbound world gives you a small starter island and tries to spawn you reasonably close to a useful early-game structure.
The Nether and End are left mostly vanilla, so once you escape the void Overworld, you can continue playing like in a regular world.
Voidbound also uses its own world presets, meaning installing the mod won't turn your regular Minecraft worlds into void worlds.
World Presets
There are three ways to play:
Voidbound
The normal survival experience.
Voidbound Speedrun
Adds a timer, milestone tracking, run validation, and an in-game run status display.
Voidbound Speedrun Hardcore
The same speedrun system, but built for one-life attempts.
Speedrun mode keeps track of important events throughout your run and can invalidate the attempt if cheats, disallowed commands, or gamemode changes are detected.
You can also export the run log for reviewing or sharing an attempt.
Modded Structures
Voidbound keeps Minecraft's normal structure generation instead of spawning a hardcoded list of structures.
Because of this, structures added by other mods can work in Voidbound too, as long as they use compatible vanilla/NeoForge worldgen systems.
Compatibility isn't guaranteed for every structure mod, so if you find one that doesn't work, feel free to report it.
