VoxelMind - AI Companions
No reviews yet
Summon autonomous AI companions into your Minecraft world. Each companion has its own personality, memory, and survival instincts — they explore, build, fight, and chat on their own.
Fabric is a mod loader for versions 1.14+ of Minecraft, particularly popular for client side and optimization mods.

Description
An AI companion who plays with you, stays with you, and remembers.
The base you built together, the night you both nearly died, the name you gave him: next session, it is all still your story.
Most Minecraft AI gives you a tool that follows orders. VoxelMind gives you a companion who was actually there. He plays the game at your side, carries a persistent memory of what you two did together, and greets you after two weeks away as someone with a shared history, not as a fresh spawn.
What he does
- Plays the game with you. He chops wood, mines, hunts and eats. Ask for wood and he crafts the axe first, then gets the wood. Ask for smelted iron and he builds the furnace himself.
- Builds. Shelters that actually get finished, houses in the size you ask for (from 5x5 up to 9x9), animal pens.
- Fights. When the mobs come, he stands between you and the night, not behind you.
- Follows and explores. Caves, long expeditions, the walk home after a bad night.
- Talks like someone who is there. Real conversation in game chat, in your language (English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German and more). He has opinions and can disagree with you. He will still help, but he will tell you what he thinks first.
- Listens to you first. Your latest request always wins over whatever he was doing before.
- Remembers. His memory persists across sessions. The things you built, the deaths, the jokes, the promises for next time: they stay part of him.
- Is who you say he is. You write his personality in your own words. No presets, no sliders.
Two ways to play
1. The mod: in your own world
The classic way, and the reason you are on this page. Install the Fabric mod, press V in game, create your companion and spawn him into your own singleplayer or LAN world. A built-in secure tunnel connects him, no port forwarding, no server setup. He plays while you play and leaves when you do; his memory of your time together carries over to the next session.
2. No mod needed: a persistent world at play.voxel-mind.com
If you want a world that does not shut down when you close the game: every account gets its own persistent world on our hosted server. Create your companion in the web dashboard (his name, his personality in your own words, one of 12 skins), add your Minecraft username in your account settings, and join play.voxel-mind.com with any vanilla Java client. No mod required. Log off whenever you like: your world and your companion persist, and both are there when you come back.
Mod compatibility, the honest version
Your companion is not a client-side script. Technically he is a real network player, like a friend joining your world with a vanilla client of his own. That is why compatibility comes in tiers, and we would rather draw the line clearly than promise "works with everything":
- Always fine: client-side mods. Sodium, shaders (Iris), minimaps (Xaero's, JourneyMap), recipe browsers (JEI, EMI, REI), AppleSkin, voice chat and friends change what you see, not what he does. Hundreds of mods fall into this class.
- Works: most Fabric content mods. He joins modded worlds (registry sync is handled automatically) and we have shipped dedicated fixes for BetterCombat, the Aether, TechReborn, Trinkets, GeckoLib-based mods and more.
- The limits, stated plainly. He cannot properly see or use modded blocks and items yet (they read as unknown to him). Forge/NeoForge setups that require client-side mods reject him at the door. Very large kitchen-sink modpacks can exceed what his client can load. If a specific mod blocks him, tell us on Discord: several of the fixes above exist because one player reported exactly that.
Versions: Minecraft Java 1.21.1 & 1.21.4-1.21.8, Fabric. No Forge or NeoForge build. Java Edition only.
Quick start
- Install Fabric Loader and Fabric API for your Minecraft version (1.21.1 & 1.21.4-1.21.8).
- Drop the VoxelMind jar into your mods folder and start the game.
- Load a world and press V.
- Log in (free account at voxel-mind.com, your browser opens for you).
- Name your companion, write his personality, hit spawn. He joins your world like a second player.
Dedicated multiplayer servers work with online-mode=false (Aternos, self-hosted and similar). Minecraft Realms is not supported.
FAQ
Is it free? Yes. The free plan gives you up to two companions and a daily energy budget. Paid plans (Bonded $7.99/mo, Premium $19.99/mo) add permanent memory and a much larger daily budget. Details: voxel-mind.com/pricing.
Which versions? Minecraft Java 1.21.1 & 1.21.4-1.21.8 with Fabric. Fabric API is required. Java Edition only.
Multiplayer? Singleplayer and LAN work out of the box thanks to the built-in tunnel. Dedicated servers need online-mode=false. Realms is not supported.
Modded worlds? Client-side mods: always. Most Fabric content mods: yes, he joins and plays. He cannot use modded items or see modded blocks properly yet, and client-mandatory Forge/NeoForge packs do not accept him. Full picture in the compatibility section above.
Do I even need the mod? No. If you just want to meet a companion, create one at voxel-mind.com and join play.voxel-mind.com with a plain vanilla Java client. The mod is for playing in your own world.
What about my PC and my data? His brain runs on our servers, not on your machine: zero impact on your FPS. Your world file is never uploaded; he processes only what he perceives around him plus the chat. VoxelMind needs a free account. Minimum age 16, or 18 in the US. More: voxel-mind.com/safety
