Description
Wands and Roses adds a magical wand progression system with craftable rose-based materials, upgradeable wand variants, homing thistle projectiles, custom particles, ammo reloads, and shared combat abilities.
Current wand set:
• Wands and Roses: base rapid-fire rose wand.
• Toxic Trouble: poisonous splash wand.
• Scorching Scepter: fire wand with stronger charged shots.
• Wand of Freezing: freezing wand with slow and splash control.
• Staff of Jinxing: cursed wand that weakens high-health enemies through Jinx.
Crafting and progression:
• Craft Rose Petals from Rose Bushes.
• Refine petals through risky crafting steps into stronger magical petals.
• Craft the base Wands and Roses wand with sticks and Imbued Rose Petals.
• Upgrade the base wand through smithing into Toxic Trouble, Scorching Scepter, Wand of Freezing, and Staff of Jinxing.
• Repair wands with Lapis Lazuli through an anvil with a capped repair cost.
Wand enchantments:
• Thistle Damage increases wand projectile damage.
• Thistle Damage I adds +4 base damage.
• Thistle Damage II adds +8 base damage.
• Thistle Damage III adds +16 base damage.
• Homing Upgrade increases homing and red-crosshair targeting reach by 18 blocks.
• Focus Recharge improves Focus regeneration speed.
• Focus Recharge I reduces Focus recharge time by 1 second.
• Focus Recharge II reduces Focus recharge time by 2 seconds.
• Focus Recharge III reduces Focus recharge time by 3 seconds.
• These enchantments can appear through normal enchanting systems such as enchantment tables, enchanted books, fishing, and villager trades.
• Wands can hold the wand enchantments together, letting players build stronger specialized versions.
Telekinesis:
• While holding any wand, middle mouse can select, grab, move, release, throw, or anchor entities and blocks.
• Selected targets glow so players can clearly see what is being controlled.
• Scroll wheel moves grabbed targets closer or farther.
• Left click throws grabbed targets forward.
• Releasing blocks can turn them into falling blocks, while anchoring can place blocks back into the world.
• Living entities can be temporarily anchored in place.
• Self Telekinesis can be activated with Ctrl + middle mouse while holding a wand.
• During Self Telekinesis, the player glows and can drift through the air by looking in a direction and using the scroll wheel to control movement strength.
• Releasing Self Telekinesis gives a short Slow Falling effect for safer landing.
• First middle mouse click is "Selection Mode", Second middle mouse click is "Locked mode or Grab mode", third middle click is the release.
• To anchor a block or entity press "CTRL" and "Middle Mouse" while on locked mode.
• Telekinesis uses Focus, a separate wand resource shown near the ammo display.
Focus and durability:
• Focus regenerates over time while holding a wand.
• Telekinesis selection, grabbing, and Self Telekinesis activation consume Focus.
• Holding telekinesis targets or Self Telekinesis slowly drains Focus.
• If Focus runs low, raw XP points can be converted into Focus.
• The exchange rate is 1 raw XP point for 10 Focus.
• When XP is converted, the Focus display updates so players can see the refill.
• When a wand reaches its final safe durability point, it can consume Focus instead of losing more durability.
• Wands still do not fully break, but low durability, low Focus, and no XP can make them temporarily unusable.
Shared wand abilities:
• Time Snare: fires a large slowing projectile.
• Arcane: grants temporary defensive buffs and limited burst attacks.
• Goatify: temporarily turns enemies into goats.
• Activate these three abilities by pressing the 123 keys above the WASD keys while holding any type of wand.
Server owner controls:
• Server owners can disable "block" telekinesis with /wandsandroses telekinesis blocks false.
• Server owners can disable "Self" Telekinesis with /wandsandroses telekinesis self false.
• These commands require permission level 2.
• Both settings are enabled by default.
• Entity telekinesis remains unchanged by these two commands.
Other features:
• Homing thistle projectiles.
• Ammo and Focus display near the hotbar.
• Custom wand particles and impact visuals.
• Multiplayer-friendly projectile behavior.
• Custom mob compatibility where possible.
• Owned, allied, and supported plant-like mobs are ignored by thistle targeting.
• Targeting and Focus systems include small optimizations for smoother modpack play.
