Description

"Mo' Bogles" is a NeoForge mod that adds new horror-themed mobs called "Bogles" to Minecraft. All of these creatures perform unique and unique actions in the game and have unique drops and mechanics. These mobs can be used as challenges during single-player gameplay (as they also contribute to making some environments more difficult) or as entities within horror-themed projects. The models, textures, animations, and artificial intelligence of the Bogles are all "vanilla," meaning they are compatible with Minecraft's graphical and gameplay style without any additions.
The following mobs are currently available in the mod:
Momo

Momo is a large hostile entity approximately twice the height of a player, characterized by bright pink exposed flesh, elongated and powerful legs for high movement speed, and the absence of arms. Its primary offensive bodypart is located on its oversized head, which it uses to attack. By default, it does not immediately engage targets; instead, it enters a stalking state in which it maintains visual focus on the player from a distance. While in this passive observation phase, it does not deal damage. However, if the player remains within its line of sight for an extended duration or approaches within close proximity, the entity transitions into a high-speed aggressive state and performs rapid melee attacks.
Its presence is announced through a unique mechanic: when within a 64-block radius, the player’s inventory visually flickers and is temporarily replaced with its face, creating a sudden visual flash effect. This does not delete items but acts as a psychological and gameplay warning. The entity can rarely spawn naturally in the world, and it can also be generated when a chicken is struck by lightning.
The Rotten

The Rotten is a large, corrupted humanoid entity that typically originates from powerful mobs being infected. It is commonly generated when a zombie infects high-durability entities such as an iron golem or a warden, though it can also spawn naturally. Its appearence features an enlarged ribcage, deteriorated limbs, and a decayed brown coloration indicating systemic corruption.
On successful melee attack, it applies a custom Rotting effect to players and certain strong entities. This status effect, once applied, initiates a timed degeneration process. When the effect expires, the infected player dies automatically, and a new Rotten spawns at the death location. This creates a chain-propagation mechanic that can rapidly escalate if not contained.
Squeaker

This is a small, flying mob that typically spawns in groups and behaves similarly to a flocking bird. It possesses an extremely durable shell-like exterior resembling hardened nut material, making it immune to standard weapon damage. To inflict damage, the player must craft and use the Nutcracker, a specific iron tool designed to crack its protective layer. Without this tool, attacks will not penetrate its armor.
Upon defeat, it drops its heart, a high-saturation food item. The food item cannot be consumed directly; it must first be cracked using the same tool while held in the off-hand. Once processed, it provides the highest saturation value per single unit due to its high fat content.
The dropped food can also be crafted into a regenerative armor set. This armor automatically restores durability over time without manual repair. However, prolonged continuous usage triggers a curse mechanic: after excessive regeneration cycles, the armor permanently fuses with the player and becomes almost impossible to remove. The only way to remove it is to hit the wearer with a Nutcracker. The entity can spawn naturally in flocks within standard environments or be generated when a parrot suffocates inside solid blocks, reflecting its material origin.
This mod is intended to be used with other mods to enhance the base game experience. It also adds various achievements, based on completing challenges against monsters and surviving them. Obviously, other mobs and features are still in the works, and will be released in the next upcoming updates. If you find any bugs, please report them by joining the WanMine Discord server!
