Description

Wellspring brings The Sift to life, a concept dimension inspired by leaks and teases surrounding future Minecraft projects like Minecraft Dungeons 2 and upcoming Vanilla updates.

Instead of just adding a basic portal, this mod aims to replicate the surreal atmosphere, unique world generation, and alien aesthetic of The Sift in a way that feels tied to Vanilla progression and lore.

How to Enter

To reach The Sift, you need to trigger a specific musical sequence in an Ancient City:

  1. Search structure chests across different dimensions and locations (EndCities, Bastions, etc.) to find rare Key Vaults.

  2. Defend yourself against guardians like Brute Piglins to acquire keys and unlock these vaults.

  3. Collect all 5 unique colored Note Blocks from different structures.

  4. Place them in the correct sequence at the Ancient City structure to play the melody that activates the rift.

What’s Inside?

Custom World Generation & Biomes: Explore distinct regions such as the Roseate Barrens, filled with unusual flora, vibrant block variations, and custom terrain generation.

Dynamic Animated Skybox: The sky features a 3-stage day/night cycle. Daytimes shift between vibrant cyan and pink tones, transitioning into deep purple and blue hues at night.

Cave Explorations & Hanging Wood: Underground caverns feature unique hanging wood formations growing from cave ceilings, offering a distinct way to harvest dimension-specific timber.

New Entities:

  • Blub: A passive creature found roaming the biomes. You can tame a blub using an echo shard. (There will be more variants for blub.)
  • Sifter & Bearded Sifter: In the future.

Current State & Development

Wellspring is currently in active development. While the world generation, skybox shaders, biomes, and entities are in place, gameplay features (such as taming mechanics, full entity animations, keys/vaults and fluids like Ichor) are still being refined and worked on.
