# Whispers

## A psychological horror experience built around uncertainty.

<details>
<summary>Spoiler</summary>

**Whispers** is a client-side Forge 1.20.1 horror mod that creates fake chat messages appearing as if they were sent by real players on your server.

The goal is simple:

Make the player question whether what they saw was real.

You may suddenly see:

<Steve> did you hear that?

or

<Alex> why are you here?

The message looks exactly like normal Minecraft chat, using the vanilla chat rendering system. Other players will not see these messages — they only exist on your client.

There is no monster.
There is no boss.
There is no obvious threat.

Only the feeling that something is wrong.

Features
Realistic Fake Chat Messages

Whispers uses Minecraft's own chat pipeline to display messages, making them appear like authentic player messages.

Messages:

Use real player formatting
Appear like normal <player> message chat
Blend naturally with real conversations
Do not appear as server messages
Multiplayer Friendly

Whispers is designed for multiplayer horror experiences.

Other players cannot see your whispers

The mod:
