Wild Earth brings the real animal kingdom into Minecraft. Every animal acts like its real-life self: lions hunt in prides, beavers build dams, sloths hang from branches, penguins slide on their bellies and octopuses change colour to hide. Tame them, ride them, collect what they give you and craft gear from it.

Taming and riding
Feed most animals their favourite food until hearts appear. Then right-click with an empty hand to make them stay or follow.
🐎 Ride the Orca, Humpback Whale, Elephant, Giraffe, Zebra and Bengal Tiger with a saddle, and even fly a Bald Eagle!
⚠️ Some animals stay wild and can't be tamed: the Great White Shark, Octopus, Poison Dart Frog, Anaconda, Piranha, Catfish and all deep-sea animals.

Real behaviour
Lions, sharks, crocodiles and anacondas hunt, and orcas hunt sharks!
Beavers gnaw trees and build dams and lodges across small rivers (but never touch your builds).
River otters belly-slide into rivers and eat fish floating on their backs.
Kingfishers dive beak-first into the water to catch fish.
Piranha schools swarm anything in the water that's bleeding.
Octopuses change colour to match the ground and squirt ink when scared.
Elephants spray water to put out fires, and sloths hang from branches.
Poison dart frogs are poisonous to touch, and jellyfish sting.
Many animals shed feathers, fur or scutes over time, so you never need to hurt them.

🐟 SALMON RUNS

Every so often a big school of salmon swims along a river near you, leaping out of the water and leaving Salmon Roe behind. Eagles, kingfishers and otters come to feast!

🌊 DEEP-SEA DIVING

The deep ocean is dangerous, just like in real life.
📉 Water pressure builds up as you dive. Warnings show on screen before it gets too high, and going too deep hurts.
🤿 Dive deeper with the Scuba Mask, Air Tank and Wetsuit.
🔵 Build a Bathysphere, a steel diving ball with air, light, a depth gauge and sonar that finds nearby sea animals. Nothing can grab you inside... except maybe the White Whale.
🔦 Light up the dark with the Dive Light, Glow Bait and Jelly Lantern.

👑 LEGENDARY ANIMALS

Five giant bosses with boss bars that get angrier at half health. Craft a special item to call each one.
🦈 Megalodon: use a Chum Bucket in deep water. Drops the Megalodon Tooth for the Megatooth Sword.
🐙 Kraken: use Kraken Bait in deep water. Drops the Kraken Heart for the Abyssal Charm.
🦁 Alpha Lion: blow a Pride Horn. Drops the Alpha Mane for the Alpha Crown.
🦌 White Stag: ring a Silver Bell at night. Drops the Spirit Antler for the Moonlit Boots.
🐋 White Whale: use an Ambergris Offering in deep water. Drops the White Whale Tooth for the Leviathan Helm.

🏛️ WILDLIFE STRUCTURES

🐋 Whale Skeleton: a giant skeleton on the beach with treasure buried under the ribs
🏕️ Research Outpost: a ranger's hut with a Zoologist villager, an Animal Guide, supplies and often a map
🦁 Abandoned Zoo: a huge forgotten zoo with 8 enclosures and two chests, and its animals are still there!
🔥 Legend Shrine: an ancient altar with a fire pit, a legend's summoning item and diamonds
🌊 Whale Fall: a sunken whale skeleton glowing with bacteria and full of deep-sea life
🎣 Fishing Camp: a fisher's hut, campfire and dock on a river bank, with a chest of fishing gear
🦫 Beaver Dam: a wall of sticks across a small river, with a lodge and a beaver family

📖 THE ANIMAL GUIDE

Your in-game encyclopedia, with tabs for Ocean, Land, Sky, Rivers, Legends, Structures and Crafts, plus a search bar. For every animal it shows where it lives, how to tame it, what it gives you and a real-life fact. It fills in as you discover animals, and the Crafts tab shows the real recipe for every piece of gear.

🧑‍🔬 THE ZOOLOGIST

Place a Field Desk next to a villager without a job and they'll become a Zoologist. They trade animal goods, saddles, charms, fishing nets and maps to every structure.

Become a Zookeeper, a Legend Hunter and a deep-sea explorer Into the Abyss. Do some Dam Good Work, watch the salmon go Upstream and survive a piranha Feeding Frenzy, and plenty more.
