Will’s Farming Tweaks is a lightweight Fabric mod that makes farming in Minecraft more efficient and convenient. It enhances hoe harvesting, bonemeal usage, and farmland behavior while remaining fully configurable and modpack-friendly.

The goal is simple: reduce repetitive farming actions without changing core vanilla mechanics.

Features

Hoe-Based Crop Harvesting

Right-click a fully grown crop with a hoe to harvest and replant crops in an area around it.

By default, the harvest radius scales with the hoe used:

  • Wooden Hoe: single crop
  • Stone Hoe: 3×3
  • Copper, Iron & Golden Hoes: 5×5
  • Diamond Hoe: 7×7
  • Netherite Hoe: 9×9

Each harvested crop consumes 1 durability from the hoe, and crops are automatically replanted.

Harvest radius, cooldown, and supported hoes are fully configurable.

Area-Based Bonemeal Growth

Using bonemeal on a crop will:

  • Always apply bonemeal to the targeted crop (vanilla behavior)
  • Optionally apply bonemeal to nearby crops within a configurable radius
  • Apply growth chance based on distance from the center

This makes bonemeal more effective for large farms without making it instant or overpowered.

Bonemeal radius and growth chance are configurable.

Farmland Protection

Optionally prevent farmland from being trampled by players, mobs, or animals.

This helps keep farms intact in busy areas or mob-heavy environments.

Farmland trampling can be enabled or disabled via config.

Configuration

Will’s Farming Tweaks is fully configurable via a server-side JSON file:

config/wills-farming-tweaks.json

The config is automatically generated on first launch and includes options for:

  • Enabling/disabling farmland trampling
  • Hoe harvest cooldown
  • Harvest radius per hoe item ID (supports modded hoes)
  • Bonemeal radius and growth chance

No client-side mod is required - perfect for servers and modpacks.
