Wither Storm Extra Nether Stars

This is a small addon for Cracker’s Wither Storm Mod that changes what happens when the Wither Storm is finally defeated.

Normally, the Wither Storm drops its special Wither Storm/Withered Nether Star.

With this addon installed, it will still drop that normal special star, but it will ALSO drop 4 regular vanilla Nether Stars at the same time.

Why did I make this?

Because it is always annoying when you resummon the Wither Storm and suddenly lose all of your support beacon progress.

If you spent time building up your support beacons, defeating the Wither Storm again should at least give you a way to get those beacons back without having to start completely from scratch.

What this addon does:

  • Keeps the normal Wither Storm Star drop
  • Adds 4 regular Nether Stars
  • Drops the extra stars at the same place as the normal Wither Storm Star
  • Does not replace or remove Cracker’s original reward
  • Designed specifically for Cracker’s Wither Storm Mod

This addon does nothing by itself. Cracker’s Wither Storm Mod is required.

FAQ

Q: Does this remove the normal Wither Storm Star?

A: No. You still get the normal special Wither Storm Star. This addon simply adds 4 regular Nether Stars alongside it.

Q: Why 4 Nether Stars?

A: Because the whole point is to help rebuild your support beacons after resummoning and defeating the Wither Storm again.

Q: Do the regular Nether Stars replace the special one?

A: Nope. You get both.

Q: Will you port this to other Minecraft versions?

A: Probably not.

At some point we have to accept that Minecraft versions are like abandoned shopping malls. Technically they still exist, but nobody is hanging out there anymore.

If everybody suddenly decides that Minecraft 1.16.5 is the future again, maybe I will reconsider.

For now, the supported versions are 1.18.2, 1.19.4, and 1.20.1.

Q: Does this work without Cracker’s Wither Storm Mod?

A: No. That would be like installing a spoiler on a car you do not own.

Q: Does it change anything else about the Wither Storm?

A: No. It only adds the 4 extra regular Nether Stars when the Wither Storm gives its normal special star reward.
