About

Description

XP Core is a simple mod that adds new ways to obtain experience. One of the main methods is mining XP ores, which naturally generate in the Overworld (between Y -60 and 40), Nether (between Y 0 and 120), and The End (between Y 0 and 70).

Another way is by killing the mod’s only creature: the Gnorb. It spawns in various biomes and dimensions. Gnorb carries a decent amount of XP, dropping a little bit every time it takes damage, and upon death, it drops a large amount of XP and one XP Bottle. However, it's wise to keep your distance — these creatures are addicted to experience and may steal a few of your levels if they get close.

The third way to obtain XP in the mod is through XP generators.

  • The weaker one, called the Crystal XP Core, must be powered by a redstone signal. Once active, it slowly generates XP crystals around itself, similar to how Budding Amethyst grows amethyst crystals.
  • The Echo XP Core is much more efficient and does not require redstone.

More Information:

To collect the XP crystals generated, you can use any pickaxe or even pistons to break them. Fortune enchantments work on both XP ores and XP crystals.

The generators are breakable blocks. If you place one in the wrong spot or want to move it, just break it with any pickaxe.

XP ores are more abundant in deeper areas: below Y=0, there’s more generation than above. In the Nether, XP ores are more common than in the Overworld. And finally, in The End, XP ore generation is significantly higher than in the other dimensions.

The Echo XP Core generates XP crystals 20 times faster than the Crystal XP Core, and does not require redstone to function.

When you get close to a Gnorb, there’s a high chance it will steal 5 XP levels from you. However, if you manage to kill it, it will drop a good amount of XP and 1 Bottle o’ Enchanting.

This mod was created with the goal of making XP farming easier, and it’s especially useful with mods like ApotheosisTinkers’ ConstructReskillable, and others that rely on XP or XP Bottles.
