About
Description
Allows the player to drink experience directly from bottles of experience and get the same amount of experience every time.
Bottles of experience are incredibly unreliable. Having to throw the bottle introduces inconsistency, the behavior of experience orb entities is hard to manage, and even the amount of experience they give is randomized. This makes bottles of experience unsuitable for use in any form of automation, even if mods allow you to create them on demand.
This mod aims to solve these problems by making bottles of experience act more like potions. You now drink bottles of experience rather than throwing them and that adds experience points directly to your player without creating an intermediate experience orb. The empty bottle is also returned to your inventory like a potion.
The amount of experience points given by one bottle is configurable, but defaults to 7 points, which is the average amount that a vanilla bottle of experience drops. Players using this mod in conjunction with mods that allow creating bottles of experience may want to tweak this value to match the amount of experience points required to create the bottle.
