Description

dodo-pack (title)

This data pack adds a new chicken var mob named dodo!

The birds themselves can't be found naturaly, but their eggs can be found in the trail ruins or jungle temples. The eggs curently don't stack. If you right click with it in your main hand, it will be thrown on the ground as an entity. If you wait long enough it'll hatch into a dodo.

Feeding any seeds to a dodo bird will make it able to lay eggs (as items) for two minutes. Dodos have two texture variants and five unique animations for standing, walking, screaming, dying and gliding/jumping/swimming (Yes, I used the same animation for those three). Curently dodos have the same loot as chickens, and their eggs only drop some exp, but that may change in the future.

All models were made using custom head item displays, so they don't require any resource packs

Some commands you might find useful
  • /function dodo:summon — summons a dodo
  • /function dodo:summon_egg — summons an egg
  • /function dodo:give_egg — gives an egg to the player
  • /function dodo:stop — stoppes all looped commands in the datapack (including animations)
  • /function dodo:start — starts all looped command in the datapack after they were stopped (including animations)

This is my first data pack, so you may encounter some issues
