Yosia’s MineZ

Please note: the mod is currently available in Russian only. An English localization has not been implemented yet.

Yosia’s MineZ is a hardcore survival mod designed for themed Minecraft modpacks centered around zombie outbreaks, post-apocalyptic environments, and the struggle for limited resources.

The project draws inspiration from the atmosphere of DayZ, the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series, and many other mods and modpacks built around similar dark survival settings. However, Yosia’s MineZ is not intended to directly copy any particular game. Instead, it develops its own systems for survival, medicine, equipment, and player interaction within the blocky world of Minecraft.

This mod is not meant for a standard vanilla-style playthrough focused on mining, farming, and progressing from wooden tools to diamonds. It works best as part of specially designed modpacks, maps, and servers featuring:

  • zombie apocalypse scenarios;
  • post-apocalyptic survival;
  • abandoned cities and military facilities;
  • dangerous contaminated areas;
  • limited supplies and scarce loot;
  • cooperative or competitive survival.

Survival Is More Than a Health Bar

Yosia’s MineZ greatly expands the player’s physical condition.

Instead of watching only the standard health bar, players must manage several interconnected survival stats:

  • blood;
  • hydration;
  • energy;
  • body temperature;
  • stamina;
  • bleeding;
  • fractures;
  • diseases;
  • stomach condition.

A single injury can cause bleeding, blood loss, and further deterioration. Treating a wound with dirty materials may lead to infection, while delayed medical attention can allow sepsis to develop.

Hunger, dehydration, hypothermia, illness, and physical trauma become serious threats that cannot be solved with one universal healing item.

Bleeding, Injuries, and Diseases

The mod features several levels of bleeding severity, each requiring appropriate treatment.

Light bleeding can be stopped with a simple rag or an unsterile bandage, but such treatment carries a risk of infection. More serious wounds require sterile materials or a hemostatic dressing.

Arm and leg fractures affect the player’s condition and must be treated with a splint. Infections and diseases require specific medication and, in some cases, a full treatment course.

Dangerous conditions include:

  • light, medium, and heavy bleeding;
  • arm and leg fractures;
  • multiple stages of sepsis;
  • cholera;
  • stomach overload;
  • vomiting.

Diseases do not disappear after taking a random pill. Some medicines must be taken as a course, with the correct interval between doses.

A Complete Medical System

Yosia’s MineZ adds a wide range of medical supplies:

  • sterile and unsterile bandages;
  • clean, dirty, and sterile rags;
  • hemostatic dressings;
  • saline bags;
  • iodine;
  • hydrogen peroxide;
  • tetracycline;
  • activated charcoal;
  • multivitamins;
  • splints;
  • morphine;
  • adrenaline;
  • AI-2 medical kits.

Every item has its own purpose, limitations, and application time.

For example, a dirty rag may save a player from blood loss but create a much more serious problem later. Antiseptics help treat early infection, tetracycline is used against severe illnesses, and activated charcoal can reduce the effects of stomach overload.

Medicine is not simply a collection of bonuses. It is a decision-making system: what should be used, when should it be used, and is the rare medicine worth spending right now?

Treating Other Players

Most medical items can be used not only on yourself, but also on another player.

Look at a teammate while holding a suitable medical item and hold the right mouse button. You can:

  • bandage an ally;
  • stop their bleeding;
  • disinfect an infected wound;
  • apply a splint;
  • administer saline;
  • inject morphine or adrenaline;
  • give them medication;
  • use an AI-2 medical kit on them.

During treatment, the action and the target player’s name are displayed on screen. If the patient moves too far away or leaves the interaction range, the procedure is canceled.

This mechanic is especially valuable on cooperative servers, where sharing medicine and helping injured teammates becomes an important part of group survival.

A Custom Survival-Style Inventory

The mod uses a separate inventory interface inspired by survival games.

Clothing, plate carriers, and backpacks provide their own storage capacity. Equipment is no longer just cosmetic or defensive—it becomes an essential part of inventory management.

Different equipment items offer different amounts of storage space. Before entering a dangerous area, players must choose between mobility, protection, and carrying capacity.

A backpack containing items cannot simply be placed into a repair recipe. It must be emptied first.

Military Clothing and Protective Equipment

Yosia’s MineZ includes equipment suited for military and post-apocalyptic modpacks:

  • Dubok military jacket;
  • Dubok military pants;
  • military boots;
  • black and olive plate carriers;
  • black and olive combat helmets;
  • red military beret;
  • VDV beret;
  • PMK-40 gas mask;
  • small civilian backpacks;
  • hiking backpacks;
  • military backpacks;
  • leather backpack.

Equipment wears down over time and requires maintenance. A valuable plate carrier or large backpack cannot be used forever without repairs.

Repairing Clothing, Armor, and Equipment

Different equipment types require specific materials and tools.

A ballistic vest can be repaired in two ways:

  • kevlar fabric, an armor plate, and a sewing kit restore a significant amount of durability;
  • kevlar fabric and a sewing kit provide a smaller field repair.

Military jackets, pants, and berets are repaired with fabric sheets. Boots require leather and a leatherworking kit.

Sewing kits and leatherworking kits have a limited number of uses. Each repair consumes one use of the appropriate tool.

This makes maintenance part of the survival economy: rare materials must be found, stored, and spent carefully.

Melee Weapons and Tools

The mod adds a variety of melee weapons:

  • crowbar;
  • pipe wrench;
  • screwdriver;
  • machete;
  • combat knife;
  • kitchen knife;
  • improvised knife;
  • baseball bat;
  • fire axe;
  • hammer.

Weapons differ not only in damage and durability, but also in attack speed. Lightweight knives can strike quickly, while heavier tools and axes require more time between swings.

Sharpening stones and duct tape are used to maintain weapons, depending on the item’s construction.

Supplies, Food, and Water

Yosia’s MineZ expands the food and drink systems, making scavenged supplies an important part of progression.

The mod includes:

  • various sealed and opened canned foods;
  • bottles and canteens;
  • clean and dirty water;
  • chlorine tablets;
  • soft drinks and energy drinks;
  • alcohol;
  • tools for opening cans;
  • crafting and repair materials.

A sealed can must be opened before its contents can be eaten. Suitable tools are required, and those tools wear down over time.

Dirty water is dangerous and should be purified. Excessive consumption of food or drink can also cause negative effects, including stomach overload and vomiting.

What Kind of Modpacks Is It Designed For?

Yosia’s MineZ is intended primarily as a foundation for themed projects rather than as a standalone expansion for ordinary vanilla survival.

It works especially well in:

  • zombie apocalypse modpacks;
  • servers with limited loot;
  • story-driven post-apocalyptic maps;
  • PvE projects with dangerous contaminated zones;
  • PvP servers inspired by survival shooters;
  • cooperative survival campaigns;
  • modpacks featuring firearms, mutants, zombies, and abandoned cities.

To experience the full potential of the mod, it is recommended to combine it with custom maps, hostile mobs, firearms, loot systems, and other mods that support the chosen setting.

What Makes Yosia’s MineZ Different?

Character condition instead of simple status bars

Blood, hydration, energy, temperature, and stamina are directly connected to injuries and diseases.

Multiple forms of treatment

Every wound and illness requires an appropriate medical item. Improper treatment can create additional complications.

Multiplayer medicine

Players can provide medical assistance to one another instead of treating only themselves.

Equipment as part of the inventory system

Clothing, plate carriers, and backpacks directly affect available storage space.

Durability and repair systems

Weapons, uniforms, footwear, plate carriers, and backpacks require different tools and materials to maintain.

Designed for themed modpacks

The mod is built specifically for zombie-apocalypse and post-apocalyptic projects where limited resources and dangerous environments define the gameplay.

Localization

At the current stage, the mod’s interface, item names, tooltips, and messages are available in Russian only.

English localization has not yet been implemented. Players using another Minecraft language may encounter untranslated localization keys or Russian text in some parts of the interface.

Gather supplies. Monitor your condition. Protect your equipment. Help your teammates.

In the world of MineZ, even a minor wound can become fatal—and a sterile bandage may be worth more than any treasure.
