A long-awaited and much-needed abandoned mineshaft overhaul!
Does not follow a specific thematic focus apart from vanilla Minecraft.
Includes a large focus on traversing worlds with enhanced world generation, structures, dungeons, and more for players to find unique loot.
Contains enhancements to cave generation, including ambience, decorative blocks, or changes to the noise generator itself.
Features structures of no particular theme, or meant as background decoration.
General improvements to world generation, such as bug fixes, aesthetic overhauls, or misc additions.
Neoforge is a fork of the Minecraft Forge available for versions 1.20.1+ of Minecraft. Many Forge mods are compatible with Neoforge and vice versa.

THIS IS FOR 1.20.4 - 1.21.1 ONLY. NEWER VERSIONS OF THIS MOD FOR NEOFORGE HAVE BEEN MOVED TO HERE.
This mod completely revamps vanilla abandoned mineshafts, changing them from boring straight lines into dynamic, varied webs of tunnels.
Find loot tucked away in the corners of abandoned workstations, or out in the open in a chest on a minecart.
- 13 biome variants, including a rare mushroom mineshaft!
- Completely customizable mineshafts! Check for the bettermineshafts folder in your config folder after running the mod for the first time
- Abandoned workstations (common)
- Workstation cellars (less common)
- Ore deposits at the end of some tunnels with coal, iron, redstone, gold, lapis, emerald, and (very rarely) diamond!
- Abandoned miners' outposts (rare)
- Surface openings (very rare)
- Includes support for lanterns and candles from Rustic, Charm, and Varied Commodities (1.12 only)
YUNG's Better Mineshafts is intended to be fully compatible with every worldgen mod, including:
