THE STORY THUS FAR...
Years ago, the Cult of All summoned the Ancient Ones to cleanse the world of all evil. They did as they were asked...and much more. They swept across the world, destroying and devouring all they could. Not even knowledge itself was safe from their otherworldly powers.
Two cities saw the eldritch signs and hid themselves with all the power they could gather, surviving what would be known as The Cleansing.
After the dust settled and the Ancient Ones departed, the few remaining survivors tried to rebuild. But the loss of knowledge, the twisting of magic, and the monsters that now roamed made progress slow.
But now FOGCraft, the combined might of the cities of Ferretopia and Port Burda, is ready to begin The Plan
And kick civilization back on track.
INTRODUCTION
Roughly once a year, I take a couple weeks off to make a modpack for one of my groups. This time, however, I wanted to make a pack that others could enjoy as well.
Welcome to A Furcraftian Tail - FOGCraft Goes West, my second public modpack. A bit of a kitchen sink pack with some tweaking, along with a bit of questing and progression.
Your goal is the connect as many of the Lost Cities and Villages into one giant Rail Network. This is not a hard set requirement, it can be ignored and the pack played how you feel.
There is some questing, as well as some progression. Most mods are locked until you recover the Lost Knowledge. Collecting the mystical Rail Tickets will be your key.
WHATS IN THE PACK?
- 100+ Quests
- Custom Items and Machine(s)
- Quick Start books for most mods, giving brief descriptions and links to wikis or project pages
- Staged Progression, choose the order in which you unlock mods
- Customized worldgen
- The Lost Cities, modified for a more tech/grungy look
- Recurrent Complex, with custom NPC shops scattered around
- Custom NPCs, who buy and sell items, offer quests(coming soon), and more!
IMPORTANT NOTES
Allocate 5 to 8 gigs of RAM to the pack. Any more is not advised.
New worlds will automatically start to pregenerate chunks in a 30 chunk radius. This is to ease initial exploration, as there are multiple worldgen mods at work (Lost Cities, Recurrent Complex, etc). You will be able to move around and play, but occasionally interactions will freeze while new regions are generated.
It is suggested to restart the modpack once the pregenerator is finished.
You start the game with two books : The Ledger (quest book), and THE PLAN (general instruction book). Be sure to consult both!
While mods are locked behind Game Stages, the use of items found in dungeons and loot bags is not disabled. You may still use them if you know how, only you cannot see the name, nor craft other items from the mod it may require until you unlock the knowledge.
Comments are disabled for the project page. Please use the Issues link above to submit bug reports to the project's Github page, or the Discord link below for discussions for this and other mods and modpacks of mine.
And finally : Unlike The Ferret Business, A Furcraftian Tail is much simpler in scope. Much of the pack is finished, with only a bit left to eventually add. It is a short project pack, and one I used to learn some of the new tools and mods I will be utilizing later for The Ferret Business 2. As of this packs initial release, TFB1 is still being worked on slowly but quite steadily.
