About
Description
Made with special care for immersion and rewarding exploration!
This modpack was initially developed for up to 4 people to play together, and as such, some endgame recipes may be hard to do if you are planning on playing this alone.
You are welcome to play and enjoy Absence, as it is made to be presentable to the public in case anyone wants to play it.
Please do know, that you *probably* wont be receiving support for any problems because of the private nature of this pack.
Core progression
The Absence endgame recipes (Draconic Expansion) are modified in such a way that you must have endgame items from Ice and Fire, Thaumcraft, Botania, EnderIO and IndustrialCraft 2. Environmental Tech is unlocked after defeating the ender dragon for the first time.
Due to this you may find trouble progressing if you are playing this alone.
The endgame tools must be crafted using endgame weapons from other mods and dimensions, such as The Aether, Twilight Forest, etc...
Absence also offers optional mods that have fun and rewarding progression systems, such as Roots 3, Embers Rekindled, Bewitchment, Astral Sorcery, Applied Energistics 2 and Blood Magic. We hope these will aid you on your journey.
What you will find
An immersive world, with mods such as Dynamic Surroundings, Biomes o Plenty, Minecraft Comes Alive, and many passive mobs that make the blocky landscapes feel more lively.
At night however, you better have a torch. Hardcore Darkness is installed (along with Dynamic Lights), so exploring the new caves (YUNG's Better Caves) is going to be a totally different experience. We hope to balance mod progression and difficulty with the Scaling Health mod, which provides a per-player difficulty meter.
I sincerely hope that in the day you'll love the world and the cute birds, yet at night you want to hide in fear from that random noise you just heard.
Quality of Life
Mods such as JEI and HWYLA are a no brainer, obviously. However, we've included things such as TelePass, a mod that allows you to teleport to your friends using an item instead of the command, and also Waystones, this does the same but with locations.
Multi-mine, fast leaf decay, 1.13+ Minecraft features, armor bars, JourneyMap and more are carefully tweaked to be helpful and not detriment the overall immersive experience.
