About

Description

Disclamer: The use of optifine when running this modpack is HIGHLY recommended in addition to allocating at LEAST 6GB of RAM.

Advent of Journeys is a modpack about exploration and natural progression.

Surface Exploration

  • Mods like Biomes O' Plenty and OBG offer more biomes to explore
  • Valhelsia Structures and Workshops of Doom adds in various abandoned or enemy-controlled structures randomly to your world. (Some even have loot!)
  • Project: Vibrant Journeys gives small additions to make your outdoors adventuring slightly more satisfying.
  • Dungeon Crawl adds in massive dungeons that start at the surface, but can have many floors below ground, each one more dangerous to explore, but more lucrative to conquer.
  • Paragliders add what is says on the tin: paragliders to make your falling less fatal.
  • Nature's Compass allows you to craft a useful tool that allows you to locate whatever biome you might need.
  • Upgrade Aquatic adds in some new content to oceans and rivers, including ocean ravines and some new mobs.
  • Guard Villagers add some much-needed defense to the villages we know and love.
  • Farmer's delight adds some new crops to farm, harvest, and turn into various nutritious food items

Underground Spelunking

  • Yung's Better Caves and Better Mineshafts add in some much needed improvements to caves and mineshafts respectively (if you hadn't already guessed).
  • Extended Caves adds in new rock formations, flora, and structures to make caving more interesting.
  • The Miner's Helmet will provide you with a dynamic light source right from the top of your head. (Zombies sometimes spawn wearing them, too!)

Dimensional Travel

  • Yung's Better Portals introduce a new method of reaching the nether. since traditional portals are now disabled, you must now locate special portals now generated underground, and new structures in the Nether provide you with your way out, so long as you have enough gold.
  • End Remastered introduces a similarly unique of reaching the end. Instead of using a bunch of craftable Eyes of Ender, you must now obtain new eyes for a new kind of portal found in one of two brand new structures.
  • The Endergetic Expansion and The Outer End introduce new content to the End, including biomes, mobs, blocks, and items.

The Power of the Arcane

  • Ars Nouveau introduces a spell crafting system that is entirely limited only by your imagination... And your maximum mana.
  • Blood Magic adds in a much more sinister form of magic that is fueled entirely by blood, whether it be your own or someone else's.
  • Eidolon lets you deal with souls, rituals, and alternative methods of enchanting and alchemy.
  • Occultism allows you to perform much more sinister rituals and even go so far as to bind demons to your will.
  • Waystones adds a Unique method of fast travel when you discover them. You can also craft them in addition to special recall scrolls and a rechargeable warp stone.

New Creatures

  • Mowzie's Mobs introduces a variety of uniquely animated mobs, form the tribes of the Barakoa to the imposing Ferrous Wroughtnaut
  • Aquaculture 2 adds in new types of fish to catch and cook, as well as new gear to do it with.
  • Ice and Fire: Dragons adds dragons (obviously) as well as other mythical creatures, such as gryphons, trolls, cyclopses, and Medusa herself!
  • Savage and Ravage, Hunter Illager, Enchant with Mob, and the Conjurer all recruit additions to the Illager armies.

Automate Your World

  • Create, supplemented with Create Crafts and Additions, which will add gears and rotational power alongside unique construction methods.
  • Immersive Engineering, allowing for electrical generation and multiblock machines to make life easy.
  • Botania includes some plant-based alternatives for automation and includes some particularly useful tools to invest in.

Other Notable Additions

  • Quark and it's Oddities addon, which add so many features it would take far too long to list all of them.
  • PlayerEx, which adds in statistical player progression similar to RPGs like Dark Souls (but far less punishing), alongside RelicEx, which adds in curios that compound onto the stats added by PlayerEx.
  • Artifacts and Relics, adding in powerful curios that can be found in different structures.
  • Bedspreads, allowing for custom textures for your bed.
  • Buzzier Bees, adding more bee-related content to the game.
  • Builders Crafts and Additions and Decorative Blocks, which add interesting options to build with.
  • Campfire Overhaul, changing the way campfires work.
  • Minecolonies, which will allow you to found and grow a settlement of your own.
  • Cosmetic Armor Reworked, which will allow you to hide that bulky armor in favor of your fashionable skin you totally made yourself (don't feel bad, we've all been there).
  • Curio of Undying and Curious Elytra, which allows you to equip each of them to sensible curio slots.
  • Ender Mail, allowing you to send packages full of all sorts of surprises to your friends.
  • Fairy Lights, adding in highly customizable hanging lights.
  • And many, many more...
