That’s what Aetheria is trying to bring back.

Aetheria is a modern Minecraft modpack inspired by the golden era of modded Minecraft. It takes the ideas and feeling of classic mods from older versions of the game and brings them together in a modern, fully playable experience.

The main focus of Aetheria is exploration. There is always somewhere else to go, something new to discover, or another dimension waiting to be explored. But exploration is only part of the experience technology plays a huge role too, giving you new ways to progress, automate, build, and experiment with your world.
