Description
Have you ever wanted to explore a new Minecraft experience, without just starting in the Overworld again? AnAether is Ibex's first (published) modpack, about surviving exclusively in the infemous sky dimension
- Start in the Aether, with no way to leave and only a parachute and Lore book to guide you
- 5 Dungeons to conquer to save the cloud realm's sunlight. And... something about a Whale...?
- a Multitude of biomes, gear and Aethers unique accessories system with per-player Loot chests (as of 1.1.0)
- a custom Bundle recipe for any semblance of inventory management
- a ton of other stuff idk about, especially Ancient Aether that things got no documentation but like 10 armor trims and a giant flower...
- VoiceChat and Vivecraft support for those that like that sort of thing
- AnAether Resourcepack that adds a funny death message or 2. Maybe turn it on, see what happens...
Hope you enjoy! This is technically just a smaller modpack to see how Publishing and running an SMP goes, but i think you'll have fun with it nonetheless.
For Developers/Server Owners
To ensure the Modpack works as intended on a server, the "defaultconfigs", "config", and "script" folders and their contents must be added to your server directory, otherwise youll spawn in the Overworld, (among other gamebreaking issues).
It's also recommended to remove Embeddium from the serverside mods, as that will probably just crash it.
keepInventory is enabled by default, as itl be awhile before you unlock a spawnpoint. This can, however, be configured through Global Gamerules.
The Bundle recipe (as well as some other Jei recipes and tweaks) is handled through the .zs files in the scripts folder, which can be easily viewed and configured with Notpad++ or a similar program.
Chunky mod is present, for those that would like to preload chunks. You'll just have to specify you're loading chunks in "aether:the_aether". More info can be found here
The base-Aether's server, client and common configs have a few extra options that arent implemented in the outdated 1.4.2 version, which this pack uses. This is because Ancient Aether currently has crash issues with 1.5 Aether, but if/when they are resolved, these extra configs being present will ensure the Modpack can update existing instances without issue. See Aether 1.5 and 1.5.1's changelog for more info.
If you're wondering why Sinytra Connector is in this pack, it was originally going to be used for some other Aether compatible mods, but now it just runs ModpackUtils and a zoom mod i like lol (I am aware MUtils has a forge version, but there were some bugs and a crash issue that the fabric version didn't)
thanks for the icon art uni
