About

Description

Antiquity to Modernity is questing modpack for Minecraft 1.12.2. It contains multiple "eras" influenced by the civilization game

To win in this modpack your civilization must be #1 by the time of a server season ending, or, in singleplayer, you must build a base on a terraformed planet in another solar system.

The tech tree can be accessed in the ftb quests menu, visible through the top-left of your inventory screen. Technologies are unlocked using research packs with each age getting more expensive research packs while requiring a greater amount of research packs for previous ages. It becomes vital to automate research pack production by the late game.

Technology progression is broken down into 9 eras:

The Ancient Era, representing 4000 BCE to 500 BCE
The Antiquity Era, representing 500 BCE to 500 CE
The Medieval Era, representing 500 CE to 1500 CE
The Renaissance Era, representing 1500 CE to 1800 CE
The Industrial Era, representing 1800 CE to 1900 CE
The Modern Era, representing 1900 CE to 1930 CE
The Innovation Era, representing 1930 CE to 1960 CE
The Contemporary Era, representing 1960 CE to 2050 CE
The Future Era, representing 2050 CE and beyond

Starting advice is to craft a town hall to start your civilization, mine and smelt copper or iron to get a saw, and either craft guides or read wikis to mods new to you. Make sure to wear a damp mask or trench mask to avoid black lung from coal dust.

For your first research I recommend fishing in order to provide a consistent food supply.

The official modpack server has not yet started.

The modpack is currently in beta, please report issues that are found in order for them to be resolved.
