The surface of the Earth lies in complete ruin. Toxic fallout, harsh environmental hazards, and an unstoppable biological plague have transformed the upper world into a ash-covered nightmare overrun by relentless zombie hordes. The few survivors were forced deep underground, building bunkers and subterranean networks to escape total extinction.

In Ashen Surface, you don't start your journey looking up at the sky — you begin in a sealed underground bunker. Your mission: survive the cold, purify your water, build up your tech and defenses, load your weapons, and slowly reclaim the surface.
